About Riverside Roost Manager

We love Granite Falls. We have always been impartial to quiet and quaint little towns, off the beaten path. Granite Falls is exactly that. Everyone knows everyone and you can still visit the local Ace Hardware store where they offer to help carry your bags to the car. Naturally, The Riverside Roost was a great little find for us. We enjoy the river and hope you end up loving it as much as we do! Come visit and Roost at the River!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Find your own piece of paradise on the Stilly River. In the morning sit on the peaceful balcony and watch the beautiful river and wild life.

During the afternoon put your feet in the cool water or better yet float the river. And in the evening barbecue with friends and make s'mores around the campfire.

Staying at the cabin was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to stay again.

Nice and clean

  • 4 of 5

Very nice and clean. The very detailed efficient binder might have been a little much with all the pictures. Everything is labeled, a little over the top. Great location though and decorated nicely.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much. Yes, I am a little over the top. I will try to reduce the book to make it more user friendly. Thank you for the suggestions. Happy Trails!

Very cute, clean and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay at the Riverside Roost. Everything was clean and updated. Loved the wall of windows to see the river. The cute decorations were great. We will stay here again and hopefully in the spring or summer so we can take advantage of the nice deck. The bed was very comfortable.

Perfect home away from home

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for all the comforts of home nestled on the scenic Stilly then the "Riverside Roost" is the right place for you. My friends and I, plus canine companions, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As advertised it proved to be a quiet, scenic location on the river. The home was clean, updated, comfortable, and inviting. We were in the area for a clinic and it proved to be a great place to unwind after long days. The owner was easy to work with and very accommodating. Our dogs gave it 4 paws up! I will definitely look to rebook during the summer months.

Wonderful Cabin in Serene Setting

  • 5 of 5

My family just returned from a wonderful stay in this quaint cabin. Not only is the cabin well maintained, but it is also well stocked. The views from the cabin are sensational and private. While it was too cold to spend much time outside, we were able to enjoy the outdoor environment from inside through the large windows and French doors. Our kids loved the bunk beds and the movie selection. Overall, this was a great experience. However, we had two issues that should be noted. I provide this feedback, not to complain, but to provide an opportunity to the property manager to make the guest experience even better. Our first issue is that we were provided a combo code from the VRBO site that did not work. We arrived to the home late at night, it was raining and our kids were grumpy...and we were locked out. I frantically called and texted the noted property manager and real estate company, but no one answered. I also called the VRBO help line, but they were of no help. Frustrated, we left the home to explore other options. Shortly thereafter, the property manager called me and provided the correct code. She stated that she was sorry and that she did not realize that the code was changed and not reflected on the check-in instructions. While I understand that accidents happen, this lack of communication on their end caused my family lots of stress. In addition, the first night we stayed at the home, one of the alarm clocks was set to go off in the middle of the night. After our rough check-in experience, it was frustrating to then be woken up by a blaring alarm clock in the middle of the night. We did not think to check the alarm clocks before we went to bed, but it would be a nice best practice for the cleaning crew to check the alarm clocks and turn them off before the next guest arrives. Again, in spite of these challenging things, our family had a nice stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Torey, Thank you so much for your candid review. I actually genuinely appreciate the feedback and would be frustrated as well with alarms going off in the middle of the night. That would be most annoying. I will be sure to let my cleaning company know to add that to their cleaning/maintenance To Do check-list. As for the code, I am responsible for that and again am so apologetic. I take responsibility for not having them update the actual lock box. We randomly change it for the security of our guests, but it was completely an over site on my part and I failed to communicate that the code had been changed. Thank you again for the review and positive feedback. Happy Trails and if you are ever this way again, please let me know as I would be happy to give you a return guest super special deal....... and make sure I check alarms and codes myself before your arrival. Take care.....
