What we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this home and will definitely book it again for future family trips. The home was clean upon arrival and has so much rustic, mountain charm though out! Although we had 5 adults and 2 children in our group, the house was very spacious and could have easily accomodated more people. The mountian/river veiws were mesmerising and so relaxing to take in from the home or from outside. We loved being so close to the river, where we could slpish splash with the kids, do some fishing, and even some tubing. We were able to access tweetsie, nearby shopping centers, food, and local parks within minutes. Lastly, we loved how the owner was so responsive and thorough. Thanks Brittany!

Perfect place

  • 5 of 5

The location and house are as advertised, if not, even better. Very close to Boone, Grandfather, Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a perfect place to spend a relaxing time in the mountains. We look forward to returning in the future. We have found our mountain getaway.

Perfect family retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time with our kids and their friends. They played in the river while we had coffee on the porch. Deer sightings in the morning and evenings were so sweet. We had a fire pit each night and enjoyed family discussions. The family room on the lower level was a great space for them to hang out, out of earshot of us, even though we were never able to get the tv to work (Satellite or DVD). They foung other things to do. We would definitely stay here again. We still need to find a lost Birkenstock ;-)

Perfect Family Vacation on the River

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8 enjoyed the most serene vacation we've had together. We were celebrating our son's graduation and Mother's Day. The house and all of it's amenities were wonderful! The porch and swings with the views and sounds of the river were our favorite spot! Thank you Harrison and Phyllis for sharing this wonderful vacation home!

Heaven On Earth In The Mountains...

  • 5 of 5

There are simply no other words to describe how incredibly beautiful the view, the house and the location of this property is. The cabin decor is rustic elegance with no detail overlooked. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing get away it's perfect! Sit inside or sit on the porch.... either way you have a full view of the meandering river.. the deer feeding morning and night in the meadow across the river... the sun and the moon breaking over the mountains in the distance. If you are looking for more of an adventure vacation it is also perfect! Hike to your hearts content, visit local fairs and festivals, fish, zip line, visit the corn maze and the Historic Mast General Store right down the road. And asif all that isn't enough, the owners could not have been more professional or accommodating. By far the best experience I have ever had with any rental experience. I can't wait to return and highly recommend this property!

Gorgeous home with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

Our family rented this house over Labor Day weekend. We had 3 adults and 4 kids. We had plenty of room. The house was spotless! It was beautifully decorated with a rustic cabin feel which made it feel like a cozy lodge. The furniture is custom made for a mountain house feel. The kids loved the log made bunk beds. Our favorite feature of this house was the huge wall to wall picture window in the living room. The view was stunning. We liked to watch the deer, which were almost always out our window across the river. we would love to bring our family here again and would highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. We will definitely be back!
