2/2 Bungalow On Fenced Lot, Room For Trailer/boat, 1/2 Mile From Pennekamp Park
Enjoy the peaceful surroundings that we enjoy, sitting on the veranda sipping an early morning cup of coffee or an afternoon glass of wine, w/ South Florida's best waters and reefs for fishing, diving, snorkeling, & spearfishing not a stone's throw away.
This is a two-story typical keys-style home, w/ two bedrooms & two baths. One bathroom is on the ground floor, serving the two bedrooms, & the other is near the living/dining area upstairs. A large sun deck located in front overlooks the marina across the street where houseboats float. At the back of the house facing a lush lot is a spacious screened-in porch. From this porch, stairs lead down to the ground floor screened-in porch where we have a washer/dryer & freezer. Our home is surrounded by large trees where you can view nature as it happens. We are big dog-friendly; pets of all shapes and sizes are welcome. Your pet can enjoy screened upstairs or downstairs porches that feel like being outdoors. Also our property is gated w/ a high iron picket fence so that your pet can roam safely. The front deck has a gate to close off the stairs.
Luis makes himself fully available to his guests, renting his boat and offering his services as a fishing guide, but note that this is ONLY FOR HIS HOUSE GUESTS.
John Pennekamp State Park is located 1/2 mile south, where the most beautiful tropical reefs are waiting for snorkelers and scuba divers alike. Visit Theatre of the Sea & experience the thrill of swimming with dolphins, or Dolphin Plus is just minutes away. Fishermen can bring their boats & rent a slip in the Koblic Marina that sits directly across the street (must make arrangements with Luis). There are nearby facilities that offer boat & wave runner rentals & snorkeling & scuba diving excursions.
For shoppers, Key Largo has unique shops & consignment stores, & on weekends Key Largo has a flea market. The farmer's market runs each Saturday & Sunday & sells stone crabs at great prices. The best seafood restaurants can be found in Key Largo serving the freshest seafood every day.
Keywords: Keys-style House / Bungalow
Please be aware that this is a typical Florida Keys-style house (rustic, somewhere between house and bungalow, quaint, & homey; for it is, in fact, our home). The bottom floor has a lower ceiling than the top floor, so very tall people should be observant. Also, the front staircase is outside of the house; the rear staircase is within a screened-in & roofed porch; these are the house's only two staircases.

Great Spot in the Keys
A great location with quick access to fantastic food, fishing, and diving. Accommodations clean, comfortable, and safe for family and Fido. Luis is quick to communicate and checks in by text frequently throughout the stay. Neighbors were friendly, especially the harbor manatees. Next time we travel to Key Largo we sure hope to stay in the Eagle’s Nest.
Great location if you like to boat and if you have a dog
The property was perfect for our dog as it is all fenced in. The location was perfect for boating since we brought our boat, as it is by "the cut" to get back and forth from oceanside to bayside. Close to walk or bike to restaurants and shopping. Sandal Factory and Largo Cargo good shopping places. Saw manatees daily in the canal. The house has window a/c units so kind of loud but I like the noise at night. Very quiet neighborhood. Just a few quirks is you need to walk outside from upstairs living/kitchen area through screened in porch to get to the bedrooms which are downstairs and the ceiling in downstairs is very low. And watch your head on the beam under the deck. My husband hit his head several times pretty hard on that. We would return for sure if we make it back down to the keys. Nothing fancy but has everything we need.
We spent a month. Furnishings very nice, fenced in yard great for pets! Upper deck great for sunning, back porch for relaxing. Great seafood near by as well as snorkeling and shopping! Luis was exceptional in making sure we were comfortable and very accomadating....took husband fishing! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for peace and beauty of the Key's. Best recommendation..going back next year!!
Amazing, Acurate, BEST vacation Spot A++++++++++
I have to say, I had such an amazing vacation. Relaxed on the private beach with my family, then went fishing and snorkeling with Luis on his boat, Really relaxing and unplugged, and it is so near everything in the Keys a very central spot especially for good food......I recommend this place, I will be back many times to come.
Fenced in yard!! Great for the dog. Well Maintained. Great location.
The owner is exceptionally personable and humble. The place has a solid fence around it so you don't have to worry about your pet getting out accidentally. The screened in porch on the second level made it nice to sit outside and enjoy. The location is a bicycle ride away from John Pennekamp State park. Snorkeling at the state park was good. Snorkeling on the reefs was the best!! There was plenty of hot water and room for all our belongings. The neighborhood is friendly. The private beach was definitely a hit. No pets... but a nice well kept park with a pavilion and lounge chairs. Luis was great - booked him for fishing and he was very knowledgeable on where to go. To me the best part about this VRBO is the owner and how gracious and hospitable he was. This is an excellent value and I would come here again.
