The Honor Cabin
We returned this year to the Honor Cabin , it is a wonderful place to stay. Every year we attend a Marine Corp. reunion in Marion NC and look forward to visiting with our friends. My husband and I love the cabin, the location is great, the cabin is comfortable, decorated with charm, it makes you feel like you are at home. The owner of the cabin Kyle Silver is a very nice person who strives to meet the needs of the people who stay in his cabin, he wants you to enjoy your visit. Next year we plan to return to Marion if the cabin is available we plan to stay again.
Very nice and great location.
We had a wonderful, relaxing week. Visited a lot of the sites within 30 miles. Plan to go again soon and stay at the Honor Cabin. Thanks to Kyle for hospitality.
Not impressed with the location.....
Firstly, the owner was great and very accommodating. The house was immaculate and the yard was lovely with a great firepit. However, the location description was quite misleading. While I'm sure it was nestled in the Blue Ridge, it was also on a main road with traffic whizzing by pretty consistently. The neighbors were close, as in I could hit their houses with a rock, but there was a privacy fence in between. I thought the cost was extremely high for that location, and I was very disappointed because we were looking for a mountain escape. My suggestion would be to really update the information, and I would also suggest a privacy fence on the front and back of the house. Again, great house and owner, but the location is not fitting for people looking for an escape.
I am sorry you feel you were mislead with the location description. Please revisit the listing and you will see a photo of the cabin with the paved road in front. This photo has always been a part of the listing and I feel that it is clear within the listing that the location is accesed by a main road. Additionally, the listing states the location as Downtown - located in the town of Marion and just steps away from the local Visitors Center. Also, less than five minutes from interstate 40 where you can be in Historic Downtown Asheville in less than 30 minutes. I fell this is clearly stated in the listing as well as the photo of the location. Also, I take my customer service and satisfaction extremely serious. I was also happy to extend to you the early check in and late check out as you requested. Even though it was a very busy holiday weekend I was happy to accommodate your needs, as I always accommodate every request of my guests if at all possible. Even considering your reservation was one night only, I was happy to offer you these extensions of your time there and happy you were able to take advantage of the additional time at the cabin. As I pride myself with everything Honor Cabin and the town of Marion has to offer.
Perfect Cabin near the BRP/Little Switzerland/Linville
This cabin is perfect for a couple, with or without kids. The layout is very comfortable with so many amenities available. Lovely regional art top off the ambience. While you are located near Marion, you have great mountain views and an easy drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The lot is large and there is plenty of barrier between the neighbors. The cabin interior is clean and fresh. The owner is easily accessible and accommodating. I'm definitely booking the Honor cabin again.
This place is great!! My wife and I honeymooned here all week and felt right at home!! Planning on staying here again soon!
