Hello, I'm Jerry and my wife is Toni, our son Jonathan. We live nearby our cabin in Russell Springs Ky. I'm from Texas and retired from the Army. Toni is from Arizona and is a retired Paramedic and now works as a nurse.

Jonathan and I love fishing for anything that will bite, best of all trout. Toni enjoys sitting and listening to nature while drinking a hot cup of tea while we are out fishing.

The Cumberland River Tail water flows out of Wolf Creek Dam on the Cumberland Lake located in south central Kentucky. The Cumberland River is over 70 miles long from Cumberland Lake to the Tennessee State Line. Since the water is taken from the bottom of the lake it is rich in nutrients and plankton. In addition the Cumberland River flows over large deposits of limestone creating a very favorable pH capable of supporting healthy populations of caddis, mayflies, sow bugs and stoneflies. There are only a few sculpins in the river and a few minnows that get washed in from the feeder streams, so the insects are the primary food for these monster trout. Therefore, the Cumberland River is an excellent choice for the fly fisherman. The waters below Lake Cumberland from Wolf Creek Dam to the Tennessee State Line, are managed as trophy waters where the current creel and size limit for browns is 20 inch minimum; one fish daily. The rainbows have a 15 to 20 inch protective slot limit. Any rainbo

Very Peaceful Place

  • 5 of 5

Me and my wife really enjoyed the quietness at the cabin. It was very relaxing for us. Everything was just as the ad for it says it was. The owners were responsive to my E-mails before and after we arrived which I really did appreciate. The nearest grocery store was a good little ways from the cabin so we got all our provisions on one trip there (we rented it for a week). I was really impressed with the grill, as well as the cabin, it did a fantastic job. My wife said it cooked the best steak she ever had, of course my cooking skills had a part in that. LOL If you go there you really need to check out the Wolf Creek Fish Hatchery. Thousands of trout being raised there per year and its not that far the cabin and cost nothing to visit. The man that cuts the grass, Jim, was a very nice gentleman and can help you out in more ways than one.

This is an awesome cabin with great features and comfort! The Cumberland River flows behind the cabin and is very relaxing to listen to off the back deck or by the fire pit. We will definitely be back to stay again!

Happy Place

  • 5 of 5

While there is plenty to do; my son and I stayed at Eagle's Nest in January for a "get away from it all and do nothing" vacation. Perfect! Beautiful location and the cabin was clean warm and cozy. I would love to vacation there again!

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just spent the weekend at this cabin and was so pleased! And it snowed!! Making everything just so beautiful outside and so cozy inside. We loved setting at the dinning room table looking out the picture window at the snow covered hills, relaxing by the fire, and watching the river roll by while soaking in the hot tub as the snow flurries fell. The cabin was very clean! And we’ll stocked with everything it said it would have. We are planning to book a stay here again in the warmer months so we can fish.

One bit of advice though if you book don’t put the address given into your GPS, use the directions they send.

Can’t wait to see it in the summer! ❤️
