About Beatriz Castaneda

We enjoy family and friends and love to travel, just us or with our three teenagers.

Beatriz Castaneda purchased this townhome in 2016

Why Beatriz Castaneda chose Philadelphia

We love this property for its convenience to public transportation, restaurants, and just being able to walk every where!. It is also very comfortable for our family and we hope it is for you as well. We visit Philadelphia so often that we decided to have a permanent place. We enjoy going to concerts, play tennis, rock climbing (indoors), and so much more.

What makes this townhome unique

The rooftop makes this home even more special, just having that space and sky all to us, it is so unique! Its orientation and high ceiling allows for tons of natural light. The hardwood floor through out its a plus!

According to Lonely Planet: “ Philadelphia is the #1 city to visit in the US in 2016. Visited by Pope Francis, hosting the Democratic National Convention in July 2016, and freshly crowned as the US’s first and only World Heritage City (joining the ranks of Cairo, Paris and Jerusalem), Philly’s on a roll. Craft breweries? Check. Hot new “locavore” restaurants? Big check. But Philadelphia is steadfastly managing to retain its historic roots and gritty flavor, as well as its affordability – a pleasant surprise for a city so cosmopolitan and accessible. Hands up to the sky, Rocky fans: celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary in 2016 with a sprint up the 72 steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.”

Philadelphia is a bustling city overflowing with activity, history, and culture. The 'City of Brotherly Love' is a city where many come to learn about the history of America's roots by touring Independence Hall, viewing the Liberty Bell, and visiting the house where Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. What many visitors forget is that Philadelphia's history was written not just in a house that stood at Seventh and Market streets, but also in the neighborhoods where Philadelphians still live today.

nicely decorated, very modern and clean with all the conveniences of home.

only downside was parking availability and streets being so narrow, unfortunately that is what you need to expect in a old historical city.

Awesome home and very accommodating host

  • 5 of 5

This place is truly a haven after a day of sightseeing! It's a beautifully renovated home and it suited my family of 5 perfectly. Beatriz was very kind and responsive. She allowed us an early check-in because the cleaners had finished their work. The only point I would make is that parking definitely can be a challenge. We'd never driven on such narrow streets before, and having to parallel park right up against the curb was tough. Sometimes we had to leave our car a block or more away because parking is so limited in the city. We just weren't used to that. Overall, though, we'd highly recommend staying in this lovely, well-appointed home.

Simply a great place to stay in Philly!

  • 5 of 5

There were 5 of us in a family group that stayed at this wonderful VRBO offering. This was simply an excellent choice for us. It is a lovely town home recently updated and it include absolutely everything a family group or any group might need. It is well stocked in the kitchen, plus everything you need in the bath with more than enough towels. It has a glorious roof top "room". Where we spent a couple of early morning hours. There are also good places to get a meal within walking distance and you can find parking on the street usually within a block of the town home. If you are thinking of visiting philly it would be a great choice of you. Also, In addition to the 2 bedrooms, there is a futon in the downstairs den which gives you another sleeping space too! Plus the owner is quick to respond to questions and to help in any way possible so you can't go wrong! Simply a lovely place to stay. We highly recommend it!

Nice property, very narrow street

  • 4 of 5

The house is new and clean and nicely furnished - all as advertised.

Be aware that the street is EXTREMELY narrow, so narrow you may have difficulty angling your car enough to parallel park. We do not have a large car (Toyota Prius) and ended up parking a block away, which is not a problem, but the drivers of both Uber XL's that we used were anxious about driving on this street.

Another note: though we had five people (four adults + one child) there were only four towels and one washcloth in the bathroom. We made do, but it would be nice to have a stash of extra towels and such.

Owner's Response: Thanks you for your comments and my apologies for the lack of towels, should've been 6 bath and 6 hand towels, we have plenty of them! I will make sure to follow up with the cleaning crew. Thanks

Wonderfully equipped, clean Philly apartment

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in Homeaway apartments all over the world. This is one of the most well-equipped homes we've rented anywhere. From the french press coffeemaker, to the cushions and blankets for the rooftop deck, the owner left no stone unturned. She was great in communicating throughout the process. I would not hesitate to rent this apartment again.
