Very warm welcome and support from Colin, lovely clean tidy little cottage, had a lovely few days.
We spent 4 nights here while exploring the western Lake District. The location was perfect for us: easy access to beautiful walks including Great Gable, Ennerdale, and Whiteside. Colin's advice was invaluable in helping us make the most of our time. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and we were made to feel very welcome. We would absolutely stay here again!
The cottage was perfect and had everything we needed. It was surprisingly spacious and very clean and comfortable, plus was warm and cosy which we really appreciated! We had no problems finding it and although it's in a very quiet and peaceful location it's only 10 minutes drive from Cockermouth.
Colin was friendly and welcoming and we would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break.
We hope to be back next year!
Comfortable well equipped cottage, welcoming owners, great location for walks and trips. Recommended
Comfy, cosy cottage
This is a lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere. It has everything that’s needed to make you feel at home and the bed is very comfortable, which is a rarity these days. I found it a perfect base to travel from.
A wonderful stay in lovely surroundings.
We really enjoyed our week in the Lake District and a large part of that was having Garden Cottage as our base from which to explore. The owners made us feel very welcome and the cottage was very clean on arrival. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The lounge was cosy, the bed comfy, the kitchen well equipped, and the shower "just right".
The location was ideal, very quiet and peaceful but not far from everything we wanted to do and Cockermouth had everything we needed to get for the week.
Loweswater, one of the quieter areas, was a very easy drive and we were really able to escape from everything, seeing hardly anyone else on our walk. The drive from Keswick through Borrowdale, over the Honister Pass and back to the cottage via Buttermere, Crummock Water and Loweswater is also well worth doing.
We shall certainly be staying again in the future and look forward to exploring this beautiful area more.
Thank you for a truly wonderful stay.
Keith and Tami.
