Overview

About the property

In the heart of the village of Winter Harbor, our newly remodeled sea coast Victorian awaits the arrival of you and your family. Walk able to the bank, post office, lobster pound, restaurants and art festival, you will appreciate the ease and convenience of the in-town location of our beautiful home. Just a short distance from miles of newly created ocean front bike trails at the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia National Park, enjoy the breathtaking views of the rugged Maine Coast along state of the art hiking and biking trails.

After a day of exploring nearby Acadia National Park and all its natural wonders, come back to the conveniences of a thoroughly modern renovated home including dishwasher, full size washer and dryer, and all new appliances. An open concept floor plan on the first floor allows light to stream into every corner from its bay windows, cheerfully lifting your spirits and warming your day. Our comfortable living room, with ample seating, invites you to relax at the end of your day of outdoor recreation. Or sit on the front porch and watch the world go by, inhaling the refreshing sea breezes from the nearby Atlantic Ocean.

Our modern kitchen is completely stocked with all the gear necessary to cook and serve your favorite summer-fresh meals. Purchase fresh organic vegetables at the Tuesday morning Winter Harbor Farmers Market, and compliment your meal with a Maine lobster, fresh off the boat. Our peaceful dining room allows you and your friends and family to enjoy your culinary creations in elegant surroundings, surrounded by original art and service furniture.

On the second floor, you will discover three bedrooms, an ample hall with more seating, and a comfortable and well appointed bathroom/laundry room. The master bedroom includes a comfortable king size bed, a desk with seating, and a beautiful bay window which lights the room with morning sunshine. Additional sleeping quarters abound in the second bedroom, which boasts two twin beds, night stands with reading lamps, and lovely furnishings. The third bedroom has one twin bed, and a matching bureau and night stand.

Winter Harbor, located at the tip of Schoodic Peninsula, is an unspoiled fishing village of quiet charm. Here you will discover an untouristed, authentic coastal Maine vacation, where hiking, biking, searching for sea glass or rock hopping along the rocky coast will satisfy for your urge to explore. If you'd like to get out on the ocean, go aboard one of two Winter Harbor ferries which traverse Frenchman's Bay several times a day on their way to Bar Harbor. You are likely to spot Dolphins, seals, many sea birds and sometimes even a whale or two!

Or take a drive "Downeast" on Route 1, and enjoy the beauty of the Bold Coast or Campobello international Park, FDR's summer home. There are always plenty of natural and historic locations to enjoy along Maine's world famous coast line, but we know you will also enjoy returning to The Grey Lady at the end of a summer day to relax and refresh yourself in comfort and style.

A great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my parents so that we could explore Acadia for a few days. The house is lovely; newly renovated and tastefully decorated. There was even a bowl of chocolates on the dining table for us when we arrived! We felt at home as soon as we walked in. It's just a few minutes' walk to the water, which is beautiful. Bar Harbor approximately 1 hour by car or ferry. We can't wait to stay here again!

Perfect get-away

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a wonderful stay. The owner was easy to work with. The property is in great condition and very clean. Our security deposit was returned in a very timely manner. We would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Acadia.

Spotless!

  • 5 of 5

This house was beyond my expectations!

I am a very neat person and rarely have come across checking into a hotel/resort/house rental that meets my cleaning standards. However, this house was absolutely immaculate! In fact, I’d really like to know her secret on keeping every nook and cranny so clean. Christine?? ;)

Also, it had everything we needed and then some.

The location was within walking distance to the quaint downtown of Winter Harbor, which is absolutely stunning.

The owner was so kind. She left us fresh eggs and fresh bread from a local bakery on the immaculate (did I already say that this house was wonderfully clean?) counter when we walked in.

If you like the rocky coast of Maine and want to stay off the beaten path in a beautifully decorated and (wait, did I mention that the House was) spotless home, this is your (it was mine) dream vacation destination.

Perfect lodging in a peaceful town

  • 5 of 5

Perfect home away from home! Christine’s directions and her instructions for entry were easy, and the house was very clean and welcoming. Bread, jam, and eggs were a helpful touch. We loved the decor and the comfy beds. Lots of towels, everything in working order...and a convenient and peaceful location for visiting the Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park. Thanks so much, Christine! We hope to return!
