This property is ideal for two families or one large family. The authentic mansard style Victorian main house was built in the early 20th century and completely modernized with hot water baseboard heat, new bathrooms and expanded kitchen in recent years. It has two bedrooms . The Master has a king size bed and ocean view. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a lot of bright natural light. The main house also has a full second floor bathroom and shower, guest bathroom, on the ground floor, antique furnished living room, fully equiped kitchen and dining area with a spectacular view of the neighboring islands.
The guest house was built recently and has a slate floor with radiant hot water heating, a full bathroom on the ground floor with large shower, washer and dryer, large living room with ocean view and TV family area. The large cathedral-ceiling second floor has a queen bed and two full beds and sitting/game area.
Trail your boat in and launch from your own property or bring canoes and kayaks to take advantage of Penobscot Bay boating. Boat rentals are available 10 minutes away at Old Quarry Ocean Adventures. Visit nearby islands and enjoy hiking their trails, watching eagles feed their young and harbor seals swimming by to say hi.
The natural beauty of our island has long since been an attraction and inspiration for artists and authors. The world renowned Haystack Mountain School of Crafts is 20 minutes away. Salty harbor tours with retired harbor master Captain Steve Johnson of "Bert and I" Charters are available to see seals, eagles, puffin, day trips to Isle au Haut or take a refreshing fresh water swim on nearby Green Island. Arcadia National Park is an easy day trip. The historic Stonington Opera House, 15 minutes away, offers first run movies, summer live theater, concerts and annual summer Jazz Festival. The Deer Isle Country Club offers tennis and golf and is open to the public.
