One of few detached vacation rental homes on waterfront in West Seattle, Beach Drive Bungalow is not a condo, townhouse or unit within a home. It's a "whole house" for you to enjoy as your home away from home while in Seattle. The home is located along the "Whale Trail" between popular Alki Beach and beautiful Lincoln Park on Puget Sound.
Beach Drive Bungalow is truly a special place. Originally built by a sea captain to live in while building a neighboring home, the property has evolved over the years. It has a wonderful casual and warm ambiance. Guest have the entire home and also the "back yard" which extends to the seawall and Puget Sound.
There is one step to the front door. Once inside the home, there are three steps to the main floor, which includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, full bathroom, bedroom and a balcony. Down stairs there is another bedroom, bathroom, game/rec room (with futon), laundry room and door that opens to a covered patio and the back yard that leads to the seawall.
As people who love to travel, we have made this home a place that we would enjoy staying in. We hope you do too!
Step into the home and you'll see stunning views of the Puget Sound from the dining and living room. Beautiful hardwood floors and the fireplace add to the warm ambiance. The home has been tastefully decorated with a nautical theme.
The living room has a large screen 4K smart TV to catch the big game, watch a show or enjoy some tunes. The sectional is very comfortable and great for relaxing.
The living and dining room are open which makes it great for spending time with your family and friends. The dining room has a mirrored bar equipped with Schott Zweisel wine glasses and margarita glasses.
There is a tower fan in the living/dining room area for warmer days. (Fans are in storage over cooler times of the year).
The kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware and serving-ware. All appliances are new as of March 2016. Some basic spices are included in the pantry. For a complete list, please contact us.
The spacious upstairs balcony is covered and has plenty of seating to take in the sunsets. The balcony is essentially an outdoors living room with an area rug, coffee table, love seat and chairs and plenty of pillows.
The upstairs bedroom has a sliding door, opening to the deck and to view Puget Sound. The queen sized bed has long-thread Egyptian cotton bedding and down alternative comforter and pillows. You may notice the floors have a slight slope towards the west end of the room - this is not unusual for older waterfront homes. Kick back in the papasan chair to enjoy the views or read a book. The bedroom has a tower fan for warmer days.
The downstairs features another private bedroom. The queen sized bed has long-thread Egyptian cotton sheets and down alternative comforter and pillows.
The rec room serves as an additional bedroom with a deluxe futon that folds out to a full sized bed. The futon is more of a "mattress" and very comfortable. Even the futon has long-thread Egyptian cotton sheets and down alternative comforter and pillows. There is a dresser and closet. The rec room has a door allowing this to be a private bedroom.
The large screen smart TV equipped with Roku. A Foosball table is ready for a friendly competition.
The library in the hall has many books and games for your enjoyment during your stay.
The 3/4-bathroom with a shower, features a penny floor and mosaic tiles. The bathroom is equipped with soft Turkish towels. It's truly a work of art.
The laundry room has a full sized washer and dryer. It is stocked with detergent and has an ironing board and drying rack.
Downstairs stays very cool during warm days - you would almost think it had air conditioning!
The backyard has a covered patio & gas bbq. There is plenty of seating to enjoy the surroundings. Watch sunsets, sea-life and all types of boats pass by from the built in bench and deck along the seawall/bulkhead.
There is ample parking available on the street.
You can walk to the Alki Light House, Alki Beach or to the many parks along Beach Drive. Guest also will walk or drive to the Junction for the many restaurants and the Sunday Farmers Market.
The home is located 7 miles to the stadiums and 8 miles to downtown Seattle. It's in a great location for a relaxing get-away and not too far away from the City.
Many of our guest us the home as a launch pad to visit beyond Seattle. Some travel to Mount Rainier, Snoqualmie Falls and Leavenworth while others decide to ditch their well made plans and just hang out at the Bungalow and enjoy West Seattle.
