Wonderful Location and Idyllic Setting
The rooms are spacious and light and the pool setting is first class. Enjoyed the table tennis too plus ate outside every morning for breakfast. We loved the area and the walk to the Abbey de Farfa is well worth it - but don't attempt it by car even though the Sat Nav says it ok. Will definitely be back.
Fabulous house in beautiful location
We had a great family holiday, the villa is well appointed, the pool is superb as are the views over the valley. We enjoyed meals at Bruno's place (El Cantinone) in the village where delicious, typical Italian food is served at very reasonable prices. On several occasions we walked to the Abbey (good morning work out...the children only came once!). We went to Rome for the day - train from Fara-Sabina and at the request of the children went to Pompeii for a day, had a very early start but was definitely worth the effort.
Thank you for a great time!
The house itself is fantastic with amazing views and of course that pool was just wonderful.
Rome was an easy commute, we saw all the sights over three days, and nothing better to coming home to cool down in the pool after hot summer days.
We were able to cook at home due to a grocery store near by when we didn't feel like eating out, a nice option to have.
I can't wait to come back again!
Thank you Greg
Super nice house near Rome
We were 4 people who had a summer holiday for 2 weeks in the house. It is a very nice house with good relaxation possibilities and a good swimming pool. Everything was well cared for and very clean. Marta responds quickly and is very helpful both with the house and various questions regarding trains etc. In addition, I commended Ferruccio (Pool and Garden Man) for a high level of service when needed. We were in Rome 2 times and it was super easy to drive to Fara in Sabina by car and take the train from there to Rome city center. In addition, it is worth visiting Tivoli, which has a fantastic waterfall. So the house can be recommended both as a base for Rome and various trips in the mountains.
Thank you Thomas.
Happy you enjoyed your stay in our villa.
Lovely villa***** Peaceful and relaxing holiday.
Our family, with four children aged twelve and up, rented the villa in Castelnuovo di Farfa for two weeks at the end of August. We found the Villa to be very peaceful with around a 15 minute walk from the town main street. Although a little hard to find when we first arrived (it didn’t even appear as a road on the Sat-Nav), this turned out to be a plus point as the villa is secluded, private and has very little passing traffic. Set on large grounds on a hillside with breathtaking views, beautiful gardens with olive trees providing additional privacy to the villa and pool from the very few neighbours, we felt at one with nature. The pool and surroundings are well equipped and we spent many idyllic, happy hours relaxing in the sun.
The villa itself is wonderful, spacious, clean, comfortable and furnished to a high standard. It is fitted out with almost everything we needed, including air conditioning, fly-nets, Sky TV and plenty of bathrooms. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and had arranged someone very kind to meet us upon arrival and to assist with any minor issues that arose. The villa is about one hour drive from Rome, and 10-15 minutes from a good size supermarket.
In the local area we especially enjoyed visiting the Abbey of Farfa and paddling in the river at Granica. We found the olive museum in the village to be bizarre, quirky and overpriced. Besides spending days exploring Rome we took longer day trips to the beautiful setting of Tivoli and to the picturesque blue lake of Turano.
We created many fond memories and hope to be able to return one day.
