Just 7 km from Florence Cathedral (35 minutes on foot) on the Fiesole hill from the north-west side, there is Villa Emy, an ancient caravanserai of the Oratory of the Santissimo Crocifisso di Fontelucente; Oratory built in 1692 in which a spring gushes out and the waters are celebrated and renowned for thaumaturgical properties.
Villa Emy, built between 1700 and 1800 on the rock and with large pieces of stone, with its 20 rooms and the annex with 8 rooms. Those same rooms that once served as a shelter for pilgrims.
Villa Emy and the surrounding land are crossed by water with particular vibrational properties. The same water that passes through the subsoil can refresh the olive trees, pears, apples, plums, figs, cherries, medlars, chestnuts, providing a copious amount of fruit that partly serves to get oil and jam. The soil, which has never been chemically treated, is lush with medicinal herbs (mallow, thyme, smoke, fennel ...) that we use for herbal teas, decoctions and succulent cooking recipes.
The forest is small but rich in animals (roe deer, foxes, squirrels, porcupines, martens, wild boars) and it is possible to walk along the paths they have traced, admiring the footsteps, respecting the environment. Two quarries of pietra serena, excavated until the '50s, are visible in their sumptuousness while large Etruscan stones remind us of the origin of Fiesole.
The annex is used for the hospitality of Villa Emy and a room is dedicated to the practice of yoga and meditation as well as to the seminars on the water.
The 2 bedrooms have 2 bathrooms, breakfast and lunch are made with exclusively organic ingredients and in the garden there is a large wood-burning oven to bake bread.
Emy has converted Villa Emy into a place to "welcome" all-round pilgrims / guests / learners. These can choose simply to stay overnight or let themselves sink into a full immersion with biological nutrition, meditation, yoga, healing walks, body care.
During the spring / summer period the lunch-seminars distinguish the evenings under the stars by candlelight in the splendid setting of the Fiesole hills, in autumn instead you organize paths in the field and in the woods looking for herbs and herbs and lunch-seminar
