Why Robert chose French Village
The property is situated across on the end of Indian Point Road, looking out St Margaret's Bay. The ocean is directly accross the road. Micou's Island which has a great beach is across the road. It is accessible without getting your feet wet when the tide is not high. Micou's Island is 22 acres and is a protected common space for use by the public. Beautiful property and location conventient to all amenities, the city, site seeing, the ocean and great for simply relaxing.

Great place to stay.
The house has everything you need. Well equipped, located close enough to Halifax to visit, but out in the country, and nestled among the coves and bays that make visiting NS a must.
not clean, not really a 2 br, and misrepresented window screens situatio
When we moved in, there were dirty dishes in the DW, dust bunnies on the shelves, the refrigerator was so full of prior guests’ foods, including expired milk that we had to clean the refrigerator before moving our own food in. One bed was very old, bouncy, yet hard that we immediately asked Robert for a mattress topper. To his credit, we got that within 2 days. The upstairs “br” was a mattress on the floor in an attic that not only required bending over to avoid hitting the roof, and even though I asked about the ventilation back in Jan or Feb and was assured the problems mentioned in prior posts had been taken care of, they were not. There were no screens in the attic ( or in the living section of the main part of the apt). We did ask Rob about this, and he attempted to install Velcro screens, but not totally successfully. I should mention that we rented for an entire month, and perhaps some of our issues were those that might only be of concern to those who stayed longer than a few days.
We didn’t feel welcomed, or that he appreciated our business as we have in other similar rentals. I would advise a thorough cleaning, including tossing newspapers from 2017, and brochures from 2016. Perhaps a handy binder containing info on the area (restaurants, walking or hiking trails, as well as a controllable amount of tourist info that can easily kept up to date would be helpful to others) would be a helpful way of cleaning up the paper mess as well as providing some welcoming info. Or, just rent the place out to a local and forget about the tourism industry- that’s who these rentals serve, after all.
Excellent location, very nice space
The apartment was well appointed, private, and in a great location with a 2 minute walk to a sandy beach. We would definitely go back.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying here! The place is gorgeous and very centrally located for all sorts of day trips around Nova Scotia.
The suite is well stocked and very accommodating.
Robert was lovely and made sure we had anything and everything that we needed for the duration of the stay.
Our stay in Nova Scotia
Spacious, comfortable, homely. We thoroughly enjoyed staying there. The place was clean, very convenient for local amenities and with a lovely lake just around the corner.
Rob the owner was also very helpful and responsive. Thank you Rob!
Lovely home in a lovely spot
We are a 69 year old couple, looking for a quiet spot, but not too far from things to do. This home more than fit our requirements. Robert greeted us, along with Tegan, and except for borrowing a cookie sheet, we never heard him or saw him. Tegan was out several mornings to pet our dog, and we enjoyed chatting with a 4 year old.
Peggy's Cove is an easy 25 minute drive, if you go early. If you wait til mid morning or later, don't bother. We also did some other scenic drives south, and visited Halifax one day. The Public Gardens are in our opinion the highlight there.
The wifi was fast, and we streamed all our TV, never using the satellite. The kitchen had everything one might need for a week in a rented home. Restaurants were available not too far, as were two large groceries. Really a very convenient home location, and exceptionally quiet. We only used the main floor, never needing the second.
There were a few birds, we brought seed to attract them. Deer were seen daily, and the pheasants also showed a couple of times. We enjoyed our cocktails on the outside deck, looking for wildlife, daily. We go out at 5 PM, and by then the deck is in the shade of the house, and it was usually breezy. But a jacket was all we needed a few evenings.
The home does have air, but we never used it. We had all the windows open most days, closing some in the evenings as it got cool. The reason for only 4 stars instead of 5, no screens on the windows. And there are flies.
Overall, if I was returning to the area, I would try and rent this property again. I believe that about sums up our experience.
This property is located in a fantastic area convenient to all amenities but still in a rural setting with the ocean, beaches and protected common space Micou's Island at your door step (across the road)There are art galleries, antique shops, restaurants, liquor store, super markets, service stations, pharmacy, medical clinics, and pretty well any other convenience you may want within a 15 minute drive. This property offers more than the typical rental. The ocean/beach, tennis courts, protected island and beach, a fire pit with free wood to burn (when it's not too dry), a canoe, paddles and life jackets, deck overlooking St. Margaret's Bay, bbq, and a beautiful fully renovated two level two bedroom suite (fully furnished with everything you will need during your stay).
