Costalta is one of the highest villages in Val Comelico, alto Cadore. On the regional road between Santo Stefano di Cadore and Sappada, at the height of Mare di San Pietro you turn and climb for about four kilometers to reach the main square of the village, which overlooks the reception of Widespread Hospitality.
Costalta is the ideal place for walks and immersions in the fir forests to breathe oxygen and perhaps give in to the wonder of discovering and collecting mushrooms. Above the houses in the meadows the old wooden tabiés still house sheep, goats and some cow. On the paths that lead from the woods and meadows to the houses, one day in July 1987 he came down on foot, meeting the people, Pope John Paul II, Karol Wojtyla.
From Costalta in a few minutes drive you reach the wonderful Val Visdende, Auronzo, Sappada, Padola, Pusteria and the Austrian valley of Gail.
