About Athalean Gee
Welcome to our Pacific Beach home! We grew up in Pacific Beach and continue to reside in San Diego. Pacific Beach has great year-round weather, infinite beach-friendly activities, and a safe family environment for everyone to enjoy. We are sharing our newly remodeled home and want all renters to feel like our family guests. We personally take care of all aspects of the rental directly. We know this will be a memorable beach experience!
Athalean Gee purchased this House in 1960
Why Athalean Gee chose North Pacific Beach
This has been a family property since 1960. We grew up and spent our childhood in this quaint Pacific Beach neighborhood. It was family-oriented community where everyone knew and took care of each other. Now, Pacific Beach has evolved into a more cosmopolitan community, filled with cafes and coffee shops, emphasizing an active lifestyle. At the same time, we feel that Pacific Beach still has the quaint charm of our youth. We are excited about sharing this community and its many benefits with others!
What makes this House unique
Our dad purchased the house in 1960. It is a family property and is well taken care of. Some of the main benefits of our property for vacation travelers are: * Quaint, cozy, newly remodeled--stocked with all the amenities and a large, semi-private backyard * Quiet, safe, friendly neighborhood that is only 2.5 blocks from Pacific Beach * 5-minute walking distance to a bevy of coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, shopping establishments, and nightlife opportunities
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Great place to stay in San Diego
Our family of 4 really enjoyed staying at this location in San Diego. The place was clean, both queen sized beds were comfortable, and the parking on the driveway was helpful. The location was nice as it was only a couple blocks to the beach to watch all the surfers but also very quiet. We liked the backyard and enjoyed picking oranges and making fresh squeezed orange juice. My 12 year old son and husband had fun playing pool in the garage and my 14 year old daughter and I enjoyed taking the bikes out for a ride around the neighborhood. The washer/dryer was convenient for packing light and doing a load of laundry while there. We had a great stay!
Cute bungalow close to the beach
Owners have done a great job of thinking of all the amenities to provide guests with a enjoyable stay: coffee and tea, wine, toiletries, snacks, and all kinds of sporting equipment. The best feature was the orange tree--we enjoyed fresh squeezed oj each morning. Patio is beautiful with multiple seating areas. Neighborhood is quiet, close to the beach and restaurants, and the house was very clean.
Perfect Vacation House!
We had the pleasure of staying here for a few nights. The house was a great size (4 of us stayed), very clean and open, and had everything we needed in it! The hosts were great and made sure we had all of the essentials for our stay ( towels, linens, beach chairs, etc. ). The back yard was beautiful and peaceful to relax in. We especially loved making fresh squeezed OJ from the orange tree outback. The location was perfect - right by the beach, boardwalk, restaurants, etc. Highly recommend staying here!
Beautiful home in a great spot
This was a great house for our vacation. It was set up with everything we needed from dishes to towels. The owner was very attentive and met us at the house on our arrival and gave us a short tour. We loved the backyard and grill. Location to beach was also reallly convenient.
Great Property, Great Owners!
I don't know where to start.
This home is absolutely beautiful. It's quaint, beautiful, and for two couples absolutely perfect. It's in a wonderful location, walkable (and ride-able via the supplied bicycles) to the beach, restaurants, bars, shops, and anything else you could want. And it's the cleanest home we've ever rented on VRBO. The owners are very friendly, even offering a bottle of wine and a gift basket upon our arrival, and it was very easy to deal with them, both upon setting up the reservation and upon arrival and departure.
The backyard area is magnificent. We spent a fair amount of time just relaxing peacefully there. The neighborhood is quiet (not like along the boardwalk, where we've stayed before). Being able to park two cars in the driveway was a big plus for us as well.
If I could have given this home and its owners 11 stars out of 5, I would.
Great location, lovely home, and quiet neighborhood.
We had a really great experience. The home owners have really done a wonderful job updating this classic California bungalow. The backyard seating area was a lovely place to sit in the evenings and visit with a glass of wine. There are numerous local restaurants within walking distance, including a French bakery with amazing pastries and coffee, and a taco stand called Oscars that makes fabulous spicy shrimp tacos (don't let the outside fool you, you can't judge that book by its cover..wow!!). It's a short walk to the beach, and just a little further to the ocean walking/biking path. The entire property is immaculate. You can see the pride of ownership in this vacation home. We will definitely stay there again.
Here are a few things that I like about this property better than other places we've stayed. First, it's very clean, and although it's an older house, it smells really nice, no 'old musty house'/apt smell. The kitchen and the bathroom have been redone, including granite in the kitchen, and a very nice range. There was no musty mildew odor. The backyard is very private, and quiet. The beds were comfortable. And the house was extremely clean. There's an orange tree in the backyard, and the oranges were really sweet. It was nice to have off street parking. And I really like that the owners meet you at check in and walk you through the property. You can tell there is a real pride in ownership..
