About Mrs Susan Lamb
Sue and Steve Lamb. We live in Plymouth, and so our holiday home at Devon Hills means we can have a short break when we feel the need, without to much travelling. We have owned the lodge for 6 years and have sublet through Haulfryn and now with Owners Direct, we take pride in keeping it up to scratch and nothing pleases us more than reading our reviews in our guest book.
Mrs Susan Lamb purchased this Lodge in 2011
Why Mrs Susan Lamb chose Paignton
This is an amazing lodge fitted out to a very high standard with every home comfort and lots of little extras. Everything about the lodge and its location is top of the range with beautiful views over the country side. It is on a quiet site but has plenty of on site facilities, beaches and country side are within a short drive, and so you can be as busy or chilled out as you wish.

Very enjoyable stay very relaxing and quiet
Clean and spacious lodge ,Short drive to beaches and shops
1 week break early July
A clean, modern and very well equipped property in a quiet location, but within easy reach of the local beaches and attractions.
Two large bi-folding French windows opening onto raised decking offer an al fresco feel and come in useful for cooling the property at the end of a warm summer day. The property is currently advertised minus the out-of-order hot-tub, which would have combined nicely to offer a great summer outdoors feel.
The beds were very comfortable and both the main bathroom and en-suite are nicely fitted, though they lack a power point for charging electric razors and toothbrushes, and the toilet seats are ill-fitting.
As a welcoming touch, some complementary items such as dishwasher tablets, biscuits, tea, coffee and toilet rolls were provided.
The only real downside to the property was the fact that my teenagers were unable to connect with the Wi-Fi, but it's a minor inconvenience and didn't detract from the holiday.
It could be the time of year, but the Blagdon Inn down the road was quiet and staff didn't seem to be on top of their game. The food was nice, but a bit pricey with a limited menu. Be warned that they don't serve food after 6pm on Sundays. We didn't rush to go back and there are plenty of other places to eat in the area.
For grocery shopping, there's a convenient Morrisons next to the zoo which is only 5 minutes away by car.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the property and our week in Devon. It was definitely a home away from home. If we ever go back to the area, this property will certainly be our first choice.
Lovely lodge and area
This lodge is first class. Great base to explore the area. The lodge is spacious clean and delivers the perfect holiday home.
Had a really lovely weekend, everything you need was in the lodge. Well equipped and sparkling clean. Enjoyed sitting on the veranda enjoying a glass of wine and the view after a long day touring. Perfect location.
