This beautiful Swiss style holiday cottage is situated in the lovely Suffolk village of Aldringham and close to the beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast. This light and airy self-catering holiday cottage boasts a large open plan kitchen/dining room, sun room, living room, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The large mature garden has a delightful patio area ideal for al fresco dining. Swiss cottage is perfect for those looking for a family break away or for a family celebration.

Lovely relaxing getaway

Lovely house, with everything you could need inside. Nice and clean comfortable beds big garden which needs a bit of tlc. One slight thing I think maybe it’s time t invest in a new tv in the lounge, sound has gone on this one but we only used it once so it wasn’t a big thing

Een grote, schone en goed onderhouden woning. Waar de vriendelijke eigenaresse er alles aan doet om je verblijf tot iets moois te maken. Wij waren met 7 volwassen en 2 kinderen. Voor de kinderen waren bedjes en kinderstoelen aanwezig. De woning ligt in een mooie rustige omgeving. Wij hebben allemaal genoten

We really enjoyed spending New Year at Swiss Cottage

We really enjoyed spending New Year at Swiss Cottage, a lovely house with spacious rooms, which we found to be exactly what we wanted. The house however, does need some maintenance work. We ended up spending most of New Years Eve trying to fix a leak under the kitchen sink which ended up flooding the floor and at the same time tripping the electrics as there were plug sockets installed low down under the sink to accommodate the waste disposal unit. We had to wash up by hand every time we cooked as the dishwasher was not working properly, as it had no hot water and did not dry the glassware, crockery and utensils on the one time we tried to use it. We reported both of the above and a plumber came round on New Years Day to clear the blockage and fix the leak so that we could use the kitchen sink again. Both of the Splash Backs in the kitchen have large crack running most of their lengths, which looks like has been caused by over tightening the plug sockets. Also we could not get the TV in the sitting room to work properly, the fact that all of the leads had been removed may have had something to do with this, but after connecting all of them up, the best we could get was a picture which had a menu permanently displayed in the middle of the screen, which we could not get rid of, leaving it unwatchable. On our first trip to put waste in the rubbish bins at the front of the property we discovered that all three bins were already full up? On the second day one of the bins was emptied, therefore we could then put some waste out. The welcome pack was very sparse with very little information on how to work some of the appliances and details about recycling and what days the bins are collected etc. We did have a lovely stay at Swiss Cottage, but feel a little aggrieved about the leak, flood and electric going off on New Years Eve as we were clearing and tidying up after our meal. By the time the panic was over and we had got the electric back on and cleaned up, it was ten to twelve, and after all we had all gone there in the first place to celebrate New Year with friends.
