A wonderful week based in this lovely apartment
A great place to stay. Apartment is excellently appointed, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and very comfy. There are stunning views from every window. It was a great base from which to explore the West Highlands. We can thoroughly recommend the property and Siobhan. Very quick to respond and so helpful.
The apartment was really great. Wonderful views, well furnished and maintained. Would happily stay here again.
the apartment is spacious, clean, modern, in a lovely location with fantastic views. siobhan is a fabulous host, she checked up with us that everything was ok and we were staying warm in the cold weather.
there are buses and a train which take you to fort william, although it is just 3 miles or so away. we took a walk along the canal to neptunes staircase, it takes around 15 to 20 mins each way.
nevis range is a short drive away, we took the mountain gondola up aonoch mor, there was snow on the top which was lovely, there are two walks to do from there and the views are amazing.
we also took the last steam train of the season on the jacobite railway to malaig, a memorable experience, with again stunning scenery.
this apartment is absolutely great and would reccommend to anyone.
Great hosts, clean & well located
Siobhan's place is located on a beautiful spot looking into the bay in surrounded by mountains. Sibhan is an attentive host with good communication & thoughtful touches for the traveller in the apartment. We found it to be a convenient base for exploring the Western Highlands. The apartment has all you need and a comfortable bed & even includes Netflix :)
good place to rest your head in fort william
The greatest asset that this apartment has is the stunning views from the picture windows located within the living room and bedroom. The property is well positioned to explore the area limited only by how far you wish to roam. we took the Jacobite train to Maillag great fun. we took a drive to fort Augustine and chose to go on the fast rib ride for 90 minutes and this was great. The accommodation has everything you need and is comfy however we are both over 65 and for us we really needed cosy. The bed is extremely comfortable, and as the air is so good we were very tired every night so did not need to relax for long before retiring to bed. This was our first trip to Scotland and we enjoyed the whole experience
Lovely big well equipped apartment with fabulous views
Stayed here in May 2018 with main purpose to climb Ben Nevis which we did.Corpach is located some 4 miles from the very busy Fort William which may be better for some. There's a good pub in next village called the Lochy in Caol which serves inexpensive meals otherwise head into Fort William or Glen Nevis and use the Ben Nevis Inn. This apartment has one of the best views you will get anywhere although it is on a busy main road and eventually you zone out the noise. The apartment is very well equipped and for 2 people is very spacious. Thoroughly recommended.
Corpach is a beautiful village approx. 4 miles from Fort William. There are beautiful walks, including the Great Glen Way and access to the canal also. The Corpach Basin is about 100M from the apartment and here you can see yachts, boats and often cruise liners both at the side of the canal and on Loch Linnhe. From here, there are spectacular views of Ben Nevis and areas to relax and picnic. You can walk along the canal to the Moorings Hotel in Banavie (approx 15 mins) and enjoy a coffee and cake in their Bistro, they also serve lunch and dinner here. It's a lovely place to eat, but booking is advised, as it can get very busy. Across the road from the apartment is a well stocked co-operative grocery store, which is really handy. We are located on the Road to the Isles, in between Fort William and Mallaig, with access to Glenfinnan and the famous White Sands of Morar, so we are very well located for exploring the Highlands. Many of our guests also use the apartment for day trips to Skye. The world famous Jacobite Steam Train passes through Corpach a couple of times a day in the Summer, watch out for it out the window or stand on the platform of Corpach train station (2 min walk) to see it in all its glory.
We are approx. 100M from Corpach train station, which forms part of the West Highland Line, considered by many to be one of the most scenic train journeys in the world. The train has direct access to Glasgow and London via Fort William. The same line is used for the Jacobite Steam Train, which travels from Fort William to Mallaig. To use this service you must catch this particular train from Fort William. You can catch the train to Mallaig, which stops at places such as Glenfinnan and Arisaig and Fort William in the other direction, or you may be better catching a bus, which stops about 20M from the apartment and is more regular. We are approx. 10 minutes from Fort William by car and the same to Aonach Mor Ski Resort. If you wish to travel to Inverness, there are daily buses from Fort William bus station. Taxis are also readily available. You can park directly outside the front of the building for free for the duration of your stay.
