About Cristina Young
I'm a native Charlestonian and my Charleston lineage goes way back to the 17th Century. I have lived in Mount Pleasant for most of my life – grade school through high school. I went to Ringling College of Art + Design in Sarasota, Florida. I own a freelance graphic design business and work out of my house. I love to surf, paddleboard and go boating – anything that has to do with water. I'm also an avid road-biker and tennis player.
Cristina Young purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Cristina Young chose Old Village
The rental is in my backyard and is surrounded by beautiful live oaks and magnolia trees. It's located in the oldest neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant and only a few blocks from the historic neighborhood called the "Old Village". There you will find quaint shops, restaurant, an awesome wine cafe that has wine tastings a couple nights a week, and old Pitt Street Pharmacy – old timey Soda Fountain. This is a great area to ride bikes around and check out all the old houses - some dating from the 1700s, and enjoy the sunsets on the harbor from the Pitt Street Bridge that's a quick bike ride through the neighborhood. I know a lot about Charleston and the surrounding areas from the best places to eat to the best places to find free parking in downtown. During your stay, if you're interested, I can give you pointers and steer you in the right direction if you're visiting for the first time.
What makes this Cottage unique
This is a cozy tiny house with a nice Zen feeling. Everything is new from the kitchen sink to the appliances to the flooring. It has a mini split AC and heating unit along with a ceiling fan so you will stay cool and comfy in the summer and warm and toasty in the winter (even though our winters here don't get much below 50°), and It's quite roomy considering it's just under 300 square feet. There are two bikes at your disposal if you want to ride the neighborhood. It's also very convenient to downtown Charleston and the beaches – and so easy to bike to the beach or walk to several restaurants a few blocks away. There are 2 grocery stores less than half a mile away, Whole Foods is about 3 miles away, and a great place to get a facial or massage just down the street. Also, If you need to do a small load of laundry, I have a washer/dryer that will be available to you if requested.

Tiny house, huge fun!
Such a fun stay and a great location! Cristina was super helpful with lending us beach equipment and suggesting places to eat and see in Charleston.
Tiny House; Tons of space
This was the perfect spot for my wife and I to spend our vacation this year. Located in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from the beautiful beaches on Sullivan's Island as well as the sights and attractions of the historic city of Charleston. The owner is extremely accommodating and personable. Also, don't let the idea of the tiny house fool you, there was plenty of space to lounge around and relax between trips to the beach.
Adorable tiny house, great location, friendly owner
This house is perfect for two! We had everything we needed and more. The location is awesome...walking distance to Shem Creek area and we biked one day to Sullivans Island. We would definitely stay there again. Cristina was a wonderful host! Thanks for having us.
Perfect Charleston getaway
Perfectly located between beaches and downtown this amazing tiny house is exactly what you need for a weekend in Charleston. Exactly as advertised and the hospitality is exceptional! 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
Loved the Tiny house
We absolutely loved our stay in the tiny house! Close to downtown Charleston and had everything we needed for our stay.
We enjoyed celebrating our 20th anniversary in Charleston..the tiny house was perfect. It was so convenient to get to everything. We will be back.
Located in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant where some houses date back from the 1700s. The barrier island are easily accessed from the location via car or bike. Beaches are less than 2.5 miles and historic downtown Charleston is less than 7 miles. You can easily bike to beach or downtown using bike paths and bike lanes. There is also a water taxi from Patriot's Point to downtown that is about 4 miles away. Beautiful Shem Creek is less than a mile from property. Great place to rent a paddle board or kayak and enjoy dolphins feeding around the shrimp boats, or just visit a creekside bar and enjoy amazing sunset views.
