About Edward Cronan
Proud to be born and raised near Boston Mass. I was lucky enough to spend a couple of years in California as a child. Not too soon after college, I had to pack up and move to San Diego. I've been here for over 20 years and I still appreciate the beauty of every single day. I love living in this amazing San Diego neighborhood of North Park.
Edward Cronan purchased this House in 2007

Perfect San Diego rental
We rented this house for a family trip to San Diego to celebrate a 70th birthday. It was perfect for all our needs, especially with all the indoor and outdoor toys which our 2 year old loved. The kitchen was well equip and the beds were very comfortable. The house and garden are extremely spacious which is a rare find in this historic neighborhood. The location was great, being within short walking distance to coffee shops and restaurants and to the park. There is a drive for parking but also ample street parking if you need to bring more than one car. Ed was a wonderful host who greeted us personally on our arrival to show us around the house. He also immediately called to offer us an alternate rental when some short term construction work (now completed) started up unexpectedly next door. We did not need to take up his offer as the work did not impact our plans but his responsiveness to the possible problem was very much appreciated. Thank you Ed!
We would certainly recommend this rental, especially for families.
For a group of young adults this place could be great! If you lean towards cleanliness, it would be less desirable. We are three older couples. We found the owner easy to reach and responsive to a couple of issues we raised. Our three most significant concerns were the house was pretty dirty, the stairs made a significant amount of noise and the old Teflon fry pans were so scratched as to be undesirable to use. We would not stay here again. For the same price we are staying in Los Angels in a great location, historic home that is night and day better.
Great for a long weekend!
We stayed in this house for a four-day weekend with five adults. The house is quite large, so we never felt cramped. Ed, the owner, was extremely accommodating and helpful during our stay. The location was great - we were able to walk to restaurants and breweries nearby. It also was a short drive or cab ride to many of the major destinations in San Diego. We only cooked breakfast during our stay, but the kitchen seemed well equipped. Our only compliant about the house was that the kitchen did not have a lot of counter space (its a historic home). We didn't heavily use the kitchen, so this was not an issue.I would definitely recommend this house for family with small children as it was fully equipped for kids - including some play structures in the lovely backyard. We would rent this home again if we were back in the area.
Perfect post holiday place to stay
We were traveling with five adults for a post-holiday family reunion. Couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations - plenty of space to spread out and relax. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed morning coffee out on the patio - beautiful outdoor space. The neighborhood is lovely, quiet and within walking distance to a diverse range of restaurants, shops, coffee/breakfast places and local breweries. We loved walking to Balboa Park.
Ed was friendly and accessible. We really appreciated him taking the time to show us the house and it's amenities upon our arrival.
We all had a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend!
San Diego Family Trip
Ed's home is at a great location for a family trip to San Diego. We were visiting with 3 kids and the experience of living in a pristinely maintained home (nearly 100 years old) was simply amazing.
Ed is great had has taken care of all things for visiting guests including very thoughtful "brochure" on nearby attractions, restaurants with a very personal touch.
I would highly recommend this place for a largish family outing.
Home for the Holidays!!. .
This home was wonderful for my husband and I and my son and his wife and young son for our Christmas get together with our children who live here in San Diego. The kitchen was well stocked. I was able to cook large meals for my family. The dining room seats 12 people comfortably. The living room was huge, beds great, backyard great for our five grandchildren. Ed Cronin was very accomodating. Would definitely rent this house again!!
