2 bedroom flat with sea views
About Hazel E
My family have a long connection with Broadstairs, coming here year on year for our family holidays. We grew up on the golden sands of Viking Beach, and loved it! Now we are pleased to share our love of Broadstairs with you! This flat was purchased by my parents in the 70's and many a sunny week was spent here. Now owned by myself and my brother, we both live overseas( New Zealand and Germany respectively) but we enjoy coming back for family get-togethers whenever we can. Please note response to enquiries may not be very fast. Time difference between UK and NZ is about 12 hours. If you book late in the day it will be faster!
Hazel E purchased this Apartment in 1974
Why Hazel E chose Broadstairs
My parents loved the location. Nothing much has changed since their time, except perhaps more and far better restaurants.
What makes this Apartment unique
The flat is perfect for enjoying the beach, the restaurants, the walks, the shops, the cinema, watching the world go by. We love the fact we can forget about the car for a few days at least.
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
Short stay in Kent
We booked this property because of the proximity to the beach and the views from the living room, and this property delivers exactly that. It far surpasses any niggling negative from any other review.
Unfortunately one of those niggling points is the access, it’s up a very short alley and across the top of the flat roof of another property - but once you’re in, that doesn’t matter, and the price compensated for the lack or curb appeal on the entrance.
Most disappointing holiday experience ever
The apartment was in a stunning location with fantastic views. However, large parts of the building, that the apartment is in, have windows that are boarded up and seem derelict or under renovation and the building was in very poor condition. The bay window of our apartment dining room looked in a sad state and in need of repair. The top of the building had scaffolding all over it. The fantastic views could not be enjoyed fully because all the windows in the apartment looked as if they were never washed. Both entrances were dated, shabby and dirty. The outside balcony area (where the back entrance was) was dirty and mouldy and had what appeared to be months of rotting leaves just sitting there in various places and a plastic outdoor chair just left thrown on the ground, in plain view from the kitchen window and when entering. The back door did not close properly, and if someone chose to, could easily have broken into the flat. The paintwork on walls near the back entranceway and the kitchen was flaking off. We were explained there was a damp problem in the kitchen, so not to worry if paint started to flake off when cooking. Many electrical sockets throughout the apartment were the old style and did not work. The beds in the second bedroom had the most uncomfortable mattresses we have ever slept on. This was not budget accommodation and we expected much better for the money paid.
Thank you for your comments. I am sorry you were disappointed. Many of your observations are about the external repairs which are the responsibility of the freeholder(not us leaseholders) We have been waiting for sometime for works to be done. We are told it will be happening soon and the flat below is waiting for the external repairs before trying to renovate inside. I can assure you that all flat owners are extremely frustrated with the snail's pace of these works including us.
Apologies that the windows were not clean- that is down to me and the local manager. I am not in the UK so rely on local information. It will certainly be addressed from now on. Outside both entrances are shared areas and are scheduled to be addressed by the Freeholder after the external works are done.
Leaves outside are in common areas, so technically not ours to clean, but I can get my local manager to deal with this( they were not there in the summer when I visited)
I have had no previous complaints about the beds- so I will investigate.
I am not aware of any malfunctioning sockets but will also check these out.
Perfect location overlooking Broadstairs beach on pedestrianised walkway. Fab for watching Wednesday fireworks which happen during school summer holidays. Clean and roomy. Not enough glasses or crockery.
Great spot, incredible views, old-fashioned charm
Jetty View lives up to its name. It’s roomy and bright. Whilst it doesn’t have many mod cons it has the essentials and we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here. We’ll be back
A stunning view
We had a lovely stat at The Prospect. The flat was spacious ans recently decorated in a 70's style. We enjoyed the view of the living Room as well as fromage the front even if it was still not finished. The only deception was that the TV had a bad reception and we wanted to watch some english TV. .. otherwise the flat is central and we could walk tout the local shops and pubs. You van also enjoy nice walk along the beach to Ramsgate or to the pub on Kingsgate. We will definitely come back when the front room is done.
Thank you so much for your review and apologies for the TV reception. Upgrade is on it's way...
Paradise spot on Broadstairs
Like the first time we were delighted with our stay in jetty view. The appartment is even bigger now that thé front room has been done ans the view is breathtaking. We had the best of times looking at the view and going for walks tout Ramsgate or to the pub on the way to Margate. The appartment is very well furnished and decorated and the owners have been very accommodating. We will definitely come back again!!
Thank you so much for your kind comments. It is great that the holiday flat is being appreciated!
