Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Casa Roja, Two Plus Two, Wide Angle White Water Ocean Views, Walk To Beach

Two nights minimum, long term possible. Situated about one hour south of the border San Diego CA, our fairly new and well maintained One Story property is located in a gated, ocean view community, with an excellent mix of custom homes and diverse mix of locals and expats from the USA, Canada and Europe. Located halfway between Rosarito and Ensenada.

Gorgeous white water ocean views, as well as River-and mountain views, make this property truly unique. THE best ocean view in La Mision hillside, generally accepted by all.

Walk to beach (or drive for that matter) without crossing any roads. La Mision Beach is well known for its very wide, quiet and very shallow first 75 yards, so ideal for families with or without kids. Horseback riding on the beach. And of course, lots of choices.

The property boasts a good mix of contemporary and Mexican architecture, design and decor: hand crafted stained glass windows, large custom made hardwood entry doors, colorful Pueblo Style walls and decorations, handmade furniture and wrought iron lamps and decorative items, talavera tile etc. Fireplace in living room, patio with propane line BBQ, no need to schlepp gas bottles, well furnished large kitchen with all cooking utensils and dishes/silverware. Brand new dishwasher too! Patio covered by palapa.

Gated (shared) courtyard parks your car (in a gated community) and garage has (shared) washer dryer for your convenience, when your stay is over one week. Palapa covered large balcony.

Truly outstanding, cozy arrangements for the well traveled- and discriminate vacationer. Master with King bed and ensuite bathroom (tub and shower), talavera sinks and tile work, tumbled marble shower surround. Guest room with Queen bed and ample storage as well. It won't come better than this. Entertainment: flat screen TV, landline phone for local calls only, WiFi internet and lots of books and magazines.

Very close to famous La Fonda Hotel/Restaurant and Spa, six other oceanfront restaurants, nightlife in Rosarito and Ensenada, Bajamar Oceanfront Golf Resort, Guaudelupe Valley wine country, Puerto Nuevo Lobstervillage with fabulous and affordable lobster dinners, shopping in downtown Rosarito and Ensenada, fabulous beaches etc. Who says you cannot have it all? Property is also offered for longterm..

Owner can arrange horseback riding on the beach, with or without photo shoot. We can also arrange wine tours with driver, to wine tastings with or without gourmet dinner, in Guadelupe Valley. We want your stay with us to be unforgettable. Sorry, no pets on furniture or bedding!.

The other good news is, the house will be clean: tile flooring only, no carpeting or rugs, good and clean for everybody.

3 Months of Bliss!

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely loved my stay at Alex and Margaret's beautifully decorated and well-maintained house. It had everything I needed, the location is very secure, the view is beautiful, and it is a short drive to some great restaurants (Dymtri's patio is my favorite). Thank you Alex and Margreet for your friendship and support during my 3 month stay - I will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Many thanks Deirdre for your nice comments and review. So glad to hear you considered it three months of "bliss". It was a pleasure having you as our guest for those three months and we did indeed enjoy the great ocean views with you together, from the patio. Also glad to hear you enjoyed the many local and handmade decorations in the house, Margreet is pleased to note you enjoyed her paintings as well. We look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy the views and escape the summer heat from your hometown. Stay well, best, Alex and Margreet

Owner's Response: Many thanks JC for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay. Happy to hear you all had a great time and especially that you liked the amenities. We aim to please and try to anticipate what people may need or "want" and try to provide everything possible in the Casa. Like blender, ironing board, hair dryer, ice cubes made from safe drinking water, BBQ on gas line, sufficient glasses for a group get -together, you name it, we try to think of it. You don't come to watch TV, but it is nice when there are over 100 channels:-) Glad to hear you and your family noticed. We'll try to improve our pictures:-) We look forward to welcoming you all again very soon, very best, Alex

Comfortable home with a great view

  • 5 of 5

The property was just right for our needs for a month-long stay, with plenty of space, two comfortable bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and spacious living area. The house is beautifully decorated with local ceramics and paintings. One surprise was to find that our nearest neighbors were two ostriches.

The beach is a fairly long walk through the residential area, but the walk offers a chance to meet people - some short term people like us, but also many residents, American and Mexican. There are small stores within half a mile, OK for basic needs.

It was a pleasant, relaxing month and we look forward to another stay.
