About Polly Gardner
Polly and Lee are long time residents of the area. Lee had a polo accident and has slowed down considerably but Polly is active and involved in lots of fun STUFF! be it fishing, kayaking, hiking, sailing, swimming, gardening, skiing etc! We have extra "wee" canoes weighing only 18 lbs. which are yours for the asking. Adamsville landing is just up the street and the West branch of the Westport River is a treasure!
Polly Gardner purchased this Apartment in 1980
Why Polly Gardner chose Little Compton
We are here because Polly grew up in the area in nearby Westport on the Westport River. We are within walking distance of everything you could ever want in a tiny village. Adamsville Wine and Spirits, Simmons market and Cafe, The Barn breakfast restaurant, Gray's Jonnycake mill and coffee shop, the Westport River, Simmons Woods and Weetamoe Woods for hiking, and the beaches are nearby.
What makes this Apartment unique
Our home is an 1890's farm house with a porch. When Polly was a child she used to play at this house with the boys who lived here and they would go on snake hunts! yes, snake hunts. With so many wonderful memories of this special village and the Westport River and all it has to offer.....It was a no brainer and a must have situation. Lee being from Colorado had his doubts but soon settled in and loves this place just as much as I do.

Beautiful, quiet getaway!
Polly and Lee were absolutely the perfect hosts! A clean apartment with everything I needed, surrounded by the most gorgeous yard, wraparound porch and places to sit and enjoy the outside. (The chicken were a fun bonus to get to watch!) Polly went above and beyond to help me when my car broke down, and I appreciate her hospitality so much. I will definitely be back when I am in Rhode Island!
Everything was comfortable and homey!! Polly was very kind and friendly. We enjoyed our stay tremendously! The apartment had everything we needed, beds were comfortable, the area is perfect. Near beaches and attractions but in a quaint little small town setting. I would recommend it very highly!!!!!!!
Charming cottage. Amazing hosts.
Cozy cottage apartment next door to Newport. Easy to get in and out of wherever we were venturing too. Clean quaint and wonderful. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Polly for an awesome trip.
A wonderful home away from home
We had a great time staying in this well-appointed apartment. Not only was the location ideal for our trip, but Polly and Lee were fantastic and friendly hosts. I hope to return there again soon!
Quaint and quiet apartment in such a cute part of Rhode Island!
Polly and Lee were wonderful hosts. Polly reached out before our arrival to see if we had any questions and was there to greet us when we arrived. My two small boys were enamored with Polly and her chickens! We couldn't have asked for a more lovely spot to spend a few days exploring the area. It seems off the beaten path, but conveniently close to so much. Polly offered great suggestions for thing to do in the area and the beach is so close and lovely.
Lovely and cozy, wonderful bathroom and very clean inside.
Polly and Lee were amazing and sweet. I slept wonderfully and waking up to the birds singing and the wonderful countryside was so relaxing! I would stay again next time I visit Rhode Island. Thanks for the amazing time!
Adamsville is a unique little village with with its own small market/cafe, The Barn
breakfast restaurant, Adamsville wine and spirits, a mill for grinding white corn for jonnycake meal along with a coffee shop....all within walking distance. Minutes away is Adamsville landing where one can launch canoes or kayaks for paddling the beautiful west branch of the Westport River. Also there are two areas with hiking trails, Simmons Woods and Weatamoe woods just up the street a bit. We are located in a quiet neighborhood next to a corn field. We have 2 resident Siamese cats and 5 silkie chickens. There eggs are very small but we love sharing them with our guests. There are 2 wineries nearby for tastings and also a brewery. There is limited shopping in Central Village in Westport where there is a super market, 2 pizza restaurants, Margarites restaurant for good home style cookin', a fish market, and a couple of specialty clothing stores and in the summer on weekends a farmers market. Fresh veggies abound all summer and our sweet corn is to die for. As a special treat a trip to Westport point to buy lobsters right off the boat might be in store.
Our home is an old farm house 1890's with a porch and the apartment added on. It has a separate entrance and the rest can be seen in all the photos. We have a rather large yard, a veggie garden, a yurt way out back, and a hot tub. So with all said.....come see us! We are Lee and Polly Gardner and would love to meet you......
