Beautiful flat with many "extras"
It was a pleasure to work with Annie. The flat has beautiful furnishings and so many extra amenities such as fresh water on nightstands, kitchen basics, high end soaps in the bathrooms, fireplace, candles, and detailed notes nicely organized.
Great location for transport via bus or tube. We highly recommend this location and owner.
A wonderful place to stay in London!
Well.... The other reviews are all true in their praise - this is a wonderful find, stylishly appointed, comfortable, close to the Underground (Putney Bridge on the District Line), and 2 minutes away from a selection of good restaurants on one side and the beautiful park of Fulham Palace and walking paths along the Thames on the other.
Proprietor Annie is welcoming and helpful, and responded to every inquiry immediately. She provides several days' of very nice breakfast things, which is such a pleasant touch, and even helped us with arrangements for a 5:15am ride to the airport!
There is one bedroom with a queen (I think) bed and a sofa bed in the sitting room which would sleep one, or perhaps two smaller children. One bathroom with a tub / shower, and also a washing machine (no dryer, use drying rack provided). The kitchen is well furnished and we made good use of it.
We found this location to be an easy tube ride into the city to see museums and theater, and going the opposite direction it is quite convenient to Kew Gardens and Hampton Court. Buses also head into the city but remember that London traffic can really be a bear! For those who want to do more extensive shopping for food and other things, a 10-minute walk across Putney Bridge takes you to Putney High Street, which has plenty to offer.
Access into the flat requires a short walk down very steep stairs (hold onto the handrail). Note that the flat is not particularly "child proofed" at least as we experienced it but I have no doubt that the proprietor would be understanding and accommodating.
Luxury flat in corner of Fulham
This is an ideal apartment. Beautifully restored building, very comfortably furnished, and exceptionally provisioned with 'essentials' that are often lacking in other rentals.
Well located by Putney Bridge it is tucked away close to an historic church and Bishops's Palace and Gardens. It is easy to visit a wide variety of interesting places both in the city centre and farther west, as well as locally. kew Gardens, Richmond Park, Hampton Court Palace are all easily accessible by public transport.
In addition to all this, Annie is terrifically helpful, very well organised, and efficient.
So much better than staying in hotels!
Fabulous kick-off to a retirement trip - spoiled me for settings left to come!
We recently spent three nights at this Fulham location as our first London stop on a 5-week retirement trip through England. While we'd never stayed in the Fulham area before, we found it a beautiful area with active families, nice restaurants, and historical sites to see.
The apartment itself is one of the nicest we've ever stayed in. It's sunny, with large front and back windows; and so spacious we had room to stretch out and deal with our jet lag on our own when we needed to. The kitchen was as well-equipped as my own at home, including a food stash left for us so we didn't have to worry about going to a market right after we checked in. Appliances, WiFi and television were all easy to use and/or had directions so we didn't have to avoid using them in fear of a mistake.
The bathroom (which is separate from the toilet area) has a huge bathtub, along with a nice shower (with very adequate water pressure and heat). And the bed . . . oh, it was so cozy, it helped us fight jet lag by tempting us to snuggle down a bit longer.
Annie was a wonderful hostess, checking in enough to assure we got there and got in OK, and that we had all we needed. She made some walking and restaurant suggestions, and give us a couple of helpful hints about the train, which is less than a 5 minute walk. And, when we were off a day on our departure (finding out only when we were on the train to the Cotswolds), and had to come back, Annie was very gracious about it, even though the flat had already started to be cleaned.
We felt so cared for, so cozy and so happy in our little flat, it set an exceedingly high bar for other locations. So far, we've yet to find one that surpassed the Fulham flat.
Thanks Annie for such a great kick off - we loved our first three days in London, and your flat was a big part of that love!
Well appointed spacious and comfortable apartment. Very well equipped. Had an enjoyable few days. Lovely welcome from Annie.
Great area for exploring both sides of the river. Fulham Palace was very interesting. Would stay again.
