About Dominic and Barbara
Hello I'm Barbara and I'm your host. Dominic is my son, he helps me sometimes, but I'll be your main contact. I studied English Literature and languages at Oxford. I speak French and German. I am a little eccentric I have to admit, however, if you find anything too unusual just tell me and I will change it! I am widowed with one son who is all grown up (well he thinks he is). I love conversation, walking, dancing, pilates, running and talking to birds. I have many friends in America, Italy and Germany and I enjoy keeping in touch with then over the internet. The age range is seventeen to seventy. My other passion is music. The piano is my favourite instrument. I am also keen on football and often visit Chelsea and Wembley. I have a base ball cap with all the player's signatures so you could say that is another of my hobbies. Do not ask me to chose between American football and English. All I can say is one does seem bigger than the other and you can make of that what you will. I adore poetry, Chaucer is one of my favourites and I have recently started to study Chinese songs as I am interested in learning Chinese. I like sweet popcorn with pickle. You see I am eccentric.
Dominic and Barbara purchased this Apartment in 1981

Of course you can order a taxi to get you wherever you want to go if you get tired of walking. The apartment is a great cosy base to enjoy a cultured stay in London.

Helena was a lovely person and I was so happy to welcome her to my apartment. I found her very interesting to talk to and I would be delighted to have her stay with me again.
Nice location in Hampstead. Close to tube, groceries, coffee, restaurants and pubs. Very considerate host.
I enjoyed meeting Christine. She was very interesting to talk to and responsive. I hope she enjoyed her stay in London and I was pleased she chose to come to my apartment.
Excellent location, comfortable apartment
We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It is comfortable and clean. Barbara was very helpful whether it was making sure we got directions to the airport, directions to the nearest grocery store, or a knife to chop vegetables. We liked the location. The apartment is a short walk to the Underground station. Hampstead is close enough to central London that we did not feel we were too far out. We had no problem going into London everyday of our trip. However, we enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood at night. We would easily stay here again.
Excellent location & very clean flat
