Disappointing Bargain Bust
We are disappointed that we elected to stay at this studio apartment while in Park City overnight while in town for a short conference at the local Hilton rather than pay the higher "conference room rate" at the hotel.
When we arrived at the front desk to check in, the staff had zero record of our planned stay. This caused much unnecessary stress. To compound the issue, the owner of the property was impossible to get a hold of despite multiple calls and voicemails. I finally followed different "prompts" on her voicemail and tried to contact her "assistant" instead. The assistant never answered, but responded to my concerns via text message. Although we ultimately made it into the condo, I was never contacted by the owner herself and never spoke to anyone via phone; everything was handled via text. Very impersonal and not very reassuring: use caution booking here.
Once in the condo, there were several signs that a poor cleaning effort had been made (shower drain covered in long black hairs, throw pillows just piled on the bed, decor on its side, and the towel rack ripped from the wall). I documented these things (to make sure we were not charged, etc) and even sent pictures to the "text message thread" with the owners assistant, but never got any response.
The condo itself is the end unit and against the street, so it gets bad marks for street noise and stairwell traffic, but you run that kind of risk when you knowingly rent an apartment. But to make matters worse, the "low battery" BEEP on the hallway smoke alarm went off every 5 minutes overnight starting at 9pm, despite our request to the front desk staff to come attend to the smoke alarm and change the battery. The overall level of noise, combined with a VERY soft mattress (think 10+ years old hiding behind a 3 in foam topper) made this the worst night sleep I've had in a while.
I don't appreciate false advertising in this industry, when a large part of your decision to rent is based on photos. Photo of fridge in posting is not the fridge in the actual apartment. In addition, the listing mentions free parking, but this is only half true. You get a parking pass for ONE vehicle. My husband had met me here for the night and we were unable to park his car on the premises, despite requesting a second parking pass from the front desk. So much for our romantic date-night.
This apartment was a disappointment: next time we will just stay in the conference hotel. Guess, you get what you pay for
Perfect home away from home
Loved it. It was just perfect for us. Adorable with everything needed for a comfortable homey stay.
Very Cute, Comfortable and Clean
We really enjoyed staying in this cute condo. Very clean and well kept, very cute. Owner is quick to respond to questions and condo offers 24 hour check in. Parked for free right next to our room. This location is close to everything, we especially enjoyed the Mexican restaurants down the street. There was even a box in the bathroom with extra essentials that you may have forgotten. Price is just right. Mattress is a little too firm for us, but that wouldn't stop us from staying there again! Thanks Kathy!
