Log cabin, 3 BR, 2.5 Bath, A/C, rural mountains, Asheville close, 7th night free
(Pets: dog, only 1, under 20 lbs. thanks) This air-conditioned 2,700 sq ft rustic log cabin sits atop a mountain overlooking the Newfound River Valley and offers the perfect getaway. The wraparound deck provides sunrise and sunset big-sky viewing (and excellent star viewing at night). It's located halfway between Asheville (15 minutes) and Waynesville/Maggie Valley and delivers incredible mountain views from every window.
The main floor includes the master bedroom and an open kitchen, dining and living area with a stone-stack fireplace, hardwood floors and cathedral ceilings. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer long-range sky, valley and mountain views. Each of the three bedrooms are tastefully furnished with a warm, cozy feel. All three bedrooms have queen-size beds. The loft also has a queen pull-out and includes a flat-screen TV (satellite TV and DVD/Blue-ray) with a large library of movies from which to choose. The kitchen has all the needed amenities. The Wi-Fi will keep you connected to the outside world (when you need it).
The cabin is surrounded by 20+ acres of fields and pine trees with four horses that keep the grass cut short in spring, summer and fall. Perfectly located - Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, Grove Park Inn, Cherokee, hundreds of world-class hiking trails, river rafting, tubing, kayaking, rock climbing and fishing are all a short drive away. You'll be approximately 30 minutes from multiple ski resorts and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Please note : The wifi connection is from a satellite internet provider so it's limited. It will be fine (and fast) for a week of normal internet browsing, but not for streaming videos (including Netflix, YouTube, etc.) which will quickly use up the data limit. Once the 5GB limit is used up, the connection will still work, but get very slow.

Fantastic home and view!
We loved this mountain home and would definitely come stay again! The home is tastefully furnished and decorated for mountain living. The setting is beautiful:-).
Perfect famili spring break
What a beautiful house! It had everything that we needed from entertainment to supplies. The porch was so relaxing and the scenery with the blue ridge off in the distance. We are an active family with 4 kids (tot to teens) and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the house. It was probably he cleanest house we’ve ever rented. We’d dedinitely return!
Beautiful cabin nestled in a picturesque setting
The cabin is beautifully decorated. Our family loved the location and the mountain views. Highly recommend.
Great Mountain Log Cabin
Beautiful log cabin in the mountains of Leicester. The view from the front porch was incredible. Our dogs loved running in the field next to the cabin. The cabin was cozy and warm, especially with the wood burning fireplace. And Leicester is just a short drive into downtown Asheville. A wonderful place to spend Christmas in Asheville.
My family had a wonderful vacation staying at the cabin. The cabin is nicely furnished and had lots of room for all of us. We loved the location and the drive to Asheville wasn’t bad at all (20 mins)
Wonderful Family Weekend
Jim, you have a lovely place in the mountains! The horses I read about on other reviews greeted us as we arrived and were so friendly. We named them Blackie & Brownie and our two granddaughters (ages 7 & 5) fell in love with them and enjoyed feeding them apples. Our grandson (2 1/2) wasn't very brave around them but loved calling them whenever we went outside. It was perfect fall weather and the colors were beautiful--thanks for arranging that for us! The cabin was exactly as presented on the web site and we enjoyed some of the games provided. Thanks for letting us share your very peaceful mountain cabin.
