Fantastic stay at Cherrytree Cottage
The cottage was just what we needed for our stay. It was very clean, tidy and set in a peaceful location. It was only a short walk to the village and amenities with the advantage of plenty of walks from the door. The hosts Robert and Janet were super hosts. A stay at Cherrytree Cottage is a definite recommend for anyone visiting Cheshire and N Wales. Look forward to staying there again.
Like Visiting Family
Lovely cottage in a private yard close to main roads, and area shops were within walking distance. Great place, and full of welcoming gifts- cookies (biscuits), bubbly, fresh roses, fresh eggs . A greeting on the door to welcome us, and cheery waves as we parked. Well stocked with the necessities. Clean, pleasant. Single beds were a little uncomfortable for an adult, and a name posted at the gate would have been helpful in finding the cottage. Great place on the whole.
Thank you for your kind words Linda.
Before you know it the ivy had partially obscured the sign.
I have now trimmed around it.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I visited Caernarfon Castle in July 1969 with my friends to witness the investiture of the English Prince Charles as Prince of Wales. It was a very lively day.
Beautifully appointed, clean and cosy.
From driving into the courtyard you knew the property was going to be all you wished for. On entering there were fresh flowers (yellow tulips) on the fire mantelpiece, 6 fresh eggs from the owners hens, a box of white chocolate biscuits and Jan later delivered a bottle of sparkling wine. After the initial briefing as to local attractions and amenities we were left on our own. The local village is 10 minutes walk away where you can buy good pub food, a more up market bistro and the cleanest chippy I have seen in ages. At the top of the village there is also a Chinese restaurant. Public transport from the village to Chester is £4 return and frequent. It is better to catch the buses up in the main village by the Chemist's as you then have a choice of 2. The buses take you directly to the new modern and very clean central bus terminus where it is an easy walk into an architecturally beautiful city and a shoppers dream on 2 levels. A walk around the city walls is a must. The trains to Liverpool from Chester run every 15 minutes and with a rail card costs £5 15p return. Get out at the first of the 3 Liverpool stations, turn right and it's a 5 minutes walk to the refurbished Alfred Dock, Tate Modern + other exhibitions. Leave the car and take the train. It's a no brainer. We travelled around Cheshire, North Wales and as far south a Iron Bridge Gorge. We didn't have too many problems with traffic but some of the main attractions are like the curates egg, good in parts. Whatever type of day you have had, the property is a delight to come back to and would highly recommend it.
Lovely cottage- lovely location some kind touches which made a difference
Lovely cottage in ideal location
The cottage was clean and fresh with plenty of space, (we were 2 adults & 2 children). Well equipped kitchen and large lounge area. Parking absolutely no problem - adjacent to house off quiet rural lane. Totally recommend.
Thank you for those kind words. I am glad you enjoyed beautiful West Cheshire and I hope you have a busy and profitable Summer.
Brilliant home from home
We needed a temporary home for 3 weeks while we were moving house. Somewhere quiet and comfortable where we could relax and work until our new home was ready.
Cherry Tree Cottage was just perfect. Lovely lounge and kitchen/diner with all the facilities you want - fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board, etc etc. and the important wi-fi connection.
Upstairs a spacious main bedroom, a second bedroom and a small but useable shower room with oodles of hot water.
Robert and Janet were pleasant hosts. Extras touches like flowers, eggs, biscuits...were lovely. We were made to feel very welcome.
Several walks into and around Tarvin (armed with a little local history from Robert) with visits to Cornichon Restaurant for Sunday brunch and local café, to be recommended.
Our pet cat Pepper was comfortable too after an initial period hid behind the sofa.
A little like leaving home when we left.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the complimentary review of the cottage, I hope you will be
very happy in your new home.
If you change your mind about the sumach I will dig one up for you.
