This beautiful 200 year old cottage is full of character. There's a bedroom on the top floor with a four-poster bed. Downstairs the sofa bed converts to two full height beds. The kitchenette is good for light cooking. The views to the Mediterranean are stunning. There's a terrace to enjoy al fresco eating and take in the vista to Cap d'Antibes. It has it all, from stunning sunrises to sublime sunsets. If you have an affinity with nature you will love it here. There are wonderful walks up the baou, one which leads to a waterfall where you can swim.
It is a five minute drive into Vence. The glorious perched medieval villages of Tourette sur Loup, Gourdon, Saint Paul de Vence, haut de Cagnes, Eze, La Turbie are between 12 and 40 minute drives away. You can be in Monaco or Italy in less than an hour.
Vence itself is a delightful Roman village which oodles with charm. It morphs from market days to musical events as if by magic yet it's a bustling lively delightful place to explore at any time of the day or night. It's no coincidence that many famous painters such as Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Dufy all chose this area for the special light. The Latin inscription on the bell at the top of the tower in Saint Paul de Vence perfectly sums it up 'hora is jam somno suggested' 'The hours invite us to dream'.
