Nautical Wheeler offers luxury waterfront living at it's finest, with affordable rates! We offer 4 floors of riverfront accommodations near the mouth of the Carrabelle River. Relax on your balconies as you enjoy the boats passing by, while you take in the breathtaking view of St. George Sound and Dog Island!

Your condo is located at the closest river access to the Gulf of Mexico for your boat. There is a public boat ramp next door and a private/secure place to park your boat within the designated boat parking area on our condo's private property.

Just two miles away is Carrabelle Beach, which offers covered picnic pavilions with grills, along with public restrooms.

Our 1 bedroom/2 bath condo gives you a covered parking space on the first floor along with a private outdoor shower. On the 2nd floor there is a screened in living area with a captain's table and chairs. This is such a fun and enjoyable hang-out place to enjoy the salt air!

The 3rd floor is the main living area with a living room, flat screen TV, kitchen and dining area, full bath, and balcony. The sofa is a queen sleeper sofa. You'll love the fully stocked kitchen and it's granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, along with it's stunning wood cabinetry.

The 4th floor hosts the master bedroom, full bath, flat screen TV, 4th floor balcony and a sleeping/sitting area that has a day bed which sleeps two. There is a beautiful sliding "barn door" that separates the extra sleeping/sitting area from the master bedroom.

Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful pool, jacuzzi, and landscaped grounds of our condo area. These amenities are included with your stay!

Nautical Wheeler is equipped with Dish Satellite for TV and WIFI.

About Glenn Smith

We both grew up in nearby Tallahassee and have enjoyed the Carrabelle area since the early 1970s. Having been on fishing charters out of Carrabelle years ago when in our teens, we have always loved the idea of owning a riverfront place as boaters in our adulthood.

Lawson is a longtime educator, having spent years as a teacher, principal, and now serving in administration at a small Christian school in Tallahassee.

Glenn enjoyed a 25 year career in airlines and at a travel agency also in Tallahassee. After retiring from the travel industry, he has been a property manager for beach homes between Alligator Point and Watercolor, Florida . Lawson and Glenn have 5 grown children, in their 20s, who have also enjoyed growing up going to Carrabelle and nearby areas such as St. George Island and Apalachicola.

While already owning a vacation rental on both St. George Island and beautiful Lake Talquin, located 35 minutes north of Carrabelle, we jumped at the opportunity of purchasing a riverfront condo when it became available in 2016. This condo's location is very unique and breathtaking!

Notes:
Beautiful Carrabelle Beach is located a mile away. When coming from Nautical Wheeler, turn south on Hwy 98 where the Carrabelle Boat Storage building is, then turn left at Emsy's Cafe which is the first curve of the road. NOTE: There is no fish sink and fish cleaning table due to the scraps attracting raccoons, mice, bears, etc... Bring your own fish cleaning set up. There is a hose and fresh water under the house in the car port. Also, there is not a charcoal grill nor a gas grill due to fire codes and safety reasons. If you bring your own portable grill, please set up away from the wood condo complex and on the grassy area between the condo and the Carrabelle River. Bring your own metal bucket and shovel for proper disposal of used charcoal after they have cooled off in your grill.

Restful, peaceful, beautiful!

We loved our time in the Nautical Wheeler! The Wheelers took great care in making sure our trip would be the best possible - all correspondence were answered quickly and thoroughly. The condo was very clean, very comfortable, incredibly well stocked and nicely updated and decorated! The bed was soooo comfortable! Linens/towels were great! Best of all it was so peaceful! Carrabelle is def a fishing town - we don't fish so we did do some exploring. Here are a few ideas if you are interested: St George Island (state park is beautiful, extremely well kept, has great covered pavilions right on the beach, which is amazing - if you are a biker or up for a long - 5 mi - walk there's a great path to the tip of the island) / When leaving St G I take a left on 98 there is a fab seafood place - The Red Pirate / Apalachicola (10 min west of St G I) has a great downtown area with lots of fun shops to explore / west of this is Port St Joe - the Krazyfish restaurant has awesome fish tacos and really great wait staff...who pointed us down the street by the lighthouse to find lots of shells, then sent us to San Blas State Park - really nice and lots of fun. We highly recommend Nautical Wheeler!!!

Beautiful!

What a great place to spend the month of February! The unit was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bed was fantastic. And the view was beyond belief. We had hoped to see a boat or two. What a surprise to see A LOT of boats, and a variety, from pleasure boats to commercial fishing vessels to a State of Florida Law Enforcement vessel. Glenn was so accommodating, including driving over an hour one way to bring us a rack for hanging our clothes. I would have given the place a 5 star rating, but for the lack of water pressure while showering, the lack of vanities in the bathrooms, and the size of the basins and inability to contain the water in the basin.If we had been staying just a week, these minor inconveniences may have been less noticable. But with a 28 day stay, it was definitely awkward. Overall Nautical Wheeler is a fantastic place for a vacation. Whether you are enjoying the comfort of the inside, the fresh air on the screen porch, or the views from both sets of French doors, you will be glad you chose this jewel. You will be centrally located near great restaurants, the River Walk, Museums and greeted by friendly locals .

LOVE IT... LOVE IT... LOVE IT

We made Nautical Wheeler our base hub for 4 nights after leaving Ft Myers Beach on our way to Orange Beach. We were looking for a place with easy access for days trips around the area. First impression... AWESOME! Well appointed, nicely decorated and CLEAN! Glenn and Lawson have a real gem here. The generosity and hospitality they have shown us from initial contact until after our stay is almost beyond compare. They are attentive and easy to work with. We will certainly look forward to another stay when in the area. What a fun place!

Great Stay at Nautical Wheeler!

Our stay at Nautical Wheeler was perfect for our anniversary weekend! We were very happy with the quality and all the features of this great condo. The owners have thought of everything - it was beautifully decorated, had a fully stocked kitchen, fast internet service, comfortable beds and lovely views. We enjoyed watching the boats passing by from the balconies and the sunrise each day. It was also the perfect "home base" for the weekend to make short trips to St. George Island to walk on the beach and to Apalachicola, where we enjoyed all the great shops and lunch at the Owl Cafe.

I would highly recommend a stay at Nautical Wheeler to others without hesitation, and we are looking forward to going back again sometime soon!

Great anniversary weekend!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and had a wonderful time! The Nautical Wheeler was such a great place on the water. The French doors on 2 levels open up to views of boats passing by, Carrabelle, and of Dog Island. The sunrises were so beautiful each morning. The multilevel townhouse was so cute and had everything we needed. Appalachicola and St George are only a short drive away and we spent a day trip there with an easy drive back. We will definitely be returning! I would recommend this hidden gem to anyone in need of a getaway.

We were very extremely impressed and pleased with the Nautical Wheeler. The owners were amazing and so accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo itself is first class and the anemities of the adjacent boat ramp and docks was a great bonus. We will definitely be back soon.

Carrabelle is a sleepy fishing village centrally located within Florida's "Forgotten Coast". This deep water river port is the last stop along the

Gulf IntraCoastal Waterway before boats take the open water journey to where the IntraCoastal Waterway continues south at Tarpon Springs, (near Tampa). Therefore, enjoy watching the boats and yachts cruise past your balcony as they fuel up prior or upon arriving from their open sea journey.

Carrabelle is near 3 lighthouses, hiking trails within state and national forests, St. James Golf and Country Club, (open to non-members), shopping in Carrabelle and Apalachicola, along with the top rated beach in the U.S.A., St. George Island.

There are multiple sights to see nearby, such as the World War II museum in Carrabelle, St. Marks Wildlife Refuge, and Wakulla Springs which is one of the world's largest and deepest fresh water springs.
