Tucked off of Music Street in central West Tisbury, this well-maintained 3+BR/2BA home w/pool is situated on 3.5 private acres bordered by Glimmerglass Pond and the Tiasquam River. Hear the sound of the water flowing downstream from the pond as you relax in the backyard or cool off in the pool set into the deck, all surrounded by beautiful grounds, forest and rock walls.

This West Tisbury Country home offers a comfortably stylish living room that opens to the sunny dining area with glass doors to the deck. The deck offers an outdoor dining area with gas grill at one end and at the other, adjacent to the pool, an outdoor shower. Just off the dining room is the kitchen with breakfast bar. A large king bedroom, full bath and mud-room entry complete this main floor. The second floor consists of a large master bedroom with queen bed/ en-suite bath, and additional bedroom with full size daybed, bookshelves and seating. On the lower level, you’ll find a family room/ entertainment & play room with ping pong table.

Just a 10-minute walk or short drive away is the historic Alley’s General Store, great for cold drinks, a newspaper and sandwiches or walk next door for café treats from 7A. Buy veggies at the summer Farmer’s Market, take in the art at the Field Gallery or visit the new library for a little summer reading, all right down the road.

Enjoy the calm waters and views of Lambert's Cove, West Tisbury’s town beach, or the surf of the south shore at Long Point Beach. Pick up some lobster in the fishing village of Menemsha, or endulge at Chilmark Chocolates down Chilmark’s South Road.

The village of West Tisbury is centrally located and has easy access to all island towns, each with their own unique character, where you can enjoy the many specialty restaurants, shops and galleries. Golf, tennis and sailing opportunities abound, as do the many children’s camps, activities and farm visits.

Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis. We ask you inform us of any pets, and breed/weight/age. This is a no smoking property.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not have central air conditioning but have installed window A/Cs in all three bedrooms.

About The Owner

As Californian transplants, we have permanently settled ourselves between Boston and the Vineyard. The island offers a great sense of community, has wonderful farm-to-table and good food traditions, and is alive with culture and the arts as people visit and perform from places far and near.

Why The Owner chose World

This property touched our hearts with the forested and rock wall landscapes, all bordered with water! Pond and stream.

It's so centrally located and walkable, just a short jaunt to the town center. For us, their couldn't be a better place.

Property is lovely; owners difficult

We were very excited to stay at this home. We were taken aback when we were first allowed in the house and given a tour and 2 pages of instructions. That has never happened to me with all the homes I have rented. The refrigerator broke down almost daily and the owner just let us know how to "reset". It was time consuming and annoying to spend your vacation worrying that your food would spoil and having to fix an appliance. At the end of our stay, the house was left in good condition and without explanation we were told that it "needed extra cleaning" and the security deposit was withheld. I believe that the owner has a friend/relative nearby and it felt often as if we were spied on. This home has great potential but we did not feel that we were treated well.

Gorgeous home in stunning location

We loved staying here for my father's 80th birthday. The home was beautiful--a place that clearly the owner resides. The rooms were welcoming and bright, and we so appreciated the dog-friendlyness of the property. It's in a great location --walking distance to the farmer's market. Highly recommended!

Well kept home with lots of amenities!!

Highly recommend this home for rental. Owner is very responsive and they provide things you wouldn't think of asking about in a rental!!! Great location, close to all the island has to offer.

Beautiful private retreat

First of all, Rebecca was wonderful to correspond with, and her mom Max, who manages the property, was just lovely! She even offered to pick me and my son up from the ferry when we first arrived. She was incredibly accommodating and helpful with suggestions. The house itself is beautiful, as is the property. You definitely feel like you are getting away from it all, but are in a great spot in MV not far from stores, beaches, etc. My family and I had a wonderful time and would love to return some day!
