Great spring getaway!
We had a relaxing and fun Easter/Passover weekend visit to Bethany with our 3 kids, a friend and her kids and our dog. EVERYONE had a good time and really appreciated the comfy and well thought-out house. The screened porches were great - adults could sit out and eat dinner, have a glass of wine, while kids chilled inside. The neighborhood felt friendly and we walked to the beach several times, as it was very convenient. The town of Bethany is so charming, and family and dog friendly (esp in the off season, our dog was thrilled to be on the beach and we saw lots of other dogs). Also, Liz was responsive, friendly and flexible - overall very easy to communicate with. Liz's house is a gem in a great area - would be fun to return in the summer!
Caroline, Thank you for your review! I am happy that you and your family had a nice holiday and enjoyed your stay! We also loved having an adult porch and a kid's porch ;) over the years. I hope you will consider staying with us again. Liz
The property was great for the family. Plenty of room and very nice.
We rented for the Thanksgiving holiday
The house was a great place to spend time with family. Thanks for letting us stay in the house.
Thanks so much for your review! I am so glad to hear that you and your family had an enjoyable Thanksgiving at my home. I welcome you to consider staying with us again. Liz B
The house is a nice little ranch perfect for two families.
The house was nice and clean, but it had a faint smell when we walked in. It smelled as if it had been closed up for an extended period of time.
Ashley, thanks so much for your review. I am happy you enjoyed your stay. In regard to your comment about a smell, I just looked into this and determined that it appears that the dehumidifier below the house was struggling to work with the unprecedented amount of rain we had in September, and wasn't able to keep up with the moisture. A new, industrial sized dehumidifier has been purchased to be installed this week, which should rectify this problem. If you visit us again, I urge you to please contact me immediately in the event you have any problems, to allow me to try and rectify them for your stay. Thanks again for your comments, and for your stay.
Great location, quiet. Nice open kitchen, good beds. Close to downtown. Front porch gives a nice bug free place to sit.
The perfect house for your worry free vacation!
There are 4 bedrooms & 2 baths, a screened front porch & a back porch with windows. The living room is a good size, the kitchen eating area & living room act as 1 large room. We wanted to rent a house that wasn't too big, the reason to get everyone together is to spend time together! Every morning we walked to the beach & took the trolley home, Fairway & Collins is the stop. If you are looking for a real "beachy" house, this is the place; every room is decorated with a beach motif. We walked to dinner several nights, walked home from some concerts & movies. Being able to park the car for 2 weeks, except for a day trip to Ocean City, MD, was a real plus, no parking fees, no circling looking for a space, it was so relaxing!
Ann Mary, thank you so much for your nice review. I am so glad you enjoyed the house, and that you had such a fun, relaxing vacation! I hope you will stay with us again! Liz
Our two families LOVED this house!
We had two families - four adults, four kids (ages 2, 4, 12, 14), and two dogs - and we loved this house! The house comes exactly as pictured, and was an easy, leisurely 7 minute bike ride to the beach or 15 minute walk. There were bike lanes for the entire ride down the main road to the beach (and traffic was generally slow), which made it feel totally safe riding in the bike lane with my two young children in a bike trailer.
The screened in front porch and screened in three-season room gave our family plenty of room to spread out when we needed to. Amazingly, the house kept sound out really well, meaning that the adults could go out to the three season room to enjoy the evening weather while playing board games and listening to music without disturbing the sleeping children (but with a clear line of sight to the kitchen, so we knew when one of our kids woke up and was looking for us). We made good use of the washer/dryer, and enjoyed a table large enough to accommodate all 8 of us (the table also apparently expands, if needed, but we didn't need to expand it). Having a full set of pots and pans, plates, cutlery, etc. made cooking locally purchased seafood work great for us.
Setup was ideal for two families - each side was virtually identical and helped ensure that my younger children didn't bother the other family when they woke up in the night. The neighborhood was fantastic - quiet homes, this one on a cul-de-sac, with other beach goers riding bikes around the neighborhood. In-neighborhood playground was useful to our young children (we wish the pool was open, since after nap time we didn't really have time to get to the beach before the thunderstorms came, but would have been able to use the pool for an hour if it was open. It seems we came a little to early in the season for that), and we were also a short drive to Fenwick Island State Park where we could take our dogs on the beach.
Our only complaint is the weather that weekend, but even so we had a great time! Liz and her family have clearly enjoyed this home for a long time, and we were so happy to borrow their home for a weekend. Thanks!
Patrick, I am so happy that you, your family and friends enjoyed your stay. I appreciate the feedback, and hope you will consider staying with us again!
