About Liz Vreeland

Pete and I halve been married for almost 28 years and have twin daughters that recently got married (11 weeks apart). We moved from NJ to SC 10 years ago and found Fripp Island soon after. We both work from home and are Distributors for a food science company called Relív International headquartered in St Louis Missouri. Pete is also involved in educating the public on Digital Currency and Blockchain Technology.

We fell in love with Fripp Island and knew that someday we would live here!

Liz Vreeland purchased this house in 2008

Why Liz Vreeland chose Fripp Island

We bought this property for many reasons. First and foremost we love the incredible water view! When you sit in the porch you are right on the waters edge and the wildlife is amazing! Secondly, it was already renovated and we loved the idea of not having to fix it up! Our lot is very private and peaceful no matter what season. We are 3/4 mile walk to the beach access and from there it's few hundred feet to the ocean.

What makes this house unique

Waters edge, Golfcourse and ocean views, over a half acre of property, very private.

Beautiful Home Base for Fripp Adventures

  • 5 of 5

My 9 year old and I spent five nights here and absolutely loved it. The space is the very well-appointed ground floor of a house that boasts abundant windows that allow natural light in all day long as well as views of a lagoon (several island birds and small alligators hunting nearly all day) and island vegetation. The apartment has a large/open eating/living room that seemed larger than it looked in the photos. There is a large TV with plenty of viewing options (although I think we turned it on only twice), and dozens of old-school board games (scrabble, trivial pursuit, boggle, chess/checkers, balderdash, etc). The other part of the apartment is composed of a short hallway with the bathroom on the left and then the two bedrooms at the end. The bathroom is amply-sized and squeaky-spotless clean. The water gets warm quickly and the towels are like fluffy little clouds. The mattresses on the beds are soft and very cozy - again, pretty much like clouds. The bedrooms are quiet and with the blinds closed, dark...so falling asleep is easy and sleeping in late a few days was way too easy! The outdoor shower allowed us to get sand-free after our many adventures to the beach. The screened in porch is enormous and has ample seating for everyone to watch the birds and alligators in the lagoon. There is a hose outside the screened in porch door if feet or fishing equipment need and extra hose-off. The kitchenette has everything you would need to make the family meals - the convection oven worked better than my full-sized oven at home. There is a washer-dryer in the bunkbed room - - fabulously convenient if you need to wash a load on your stay. Also tucked away in that closet are about 1,000 beach towels, so no need to bring those bulky items from home. And Liz is just absolutely a dear. Wonderfully sweet, warm, and helpful. I recommend renting a golf cart - parking on the island for cars (especially at beach accesses) is very limited. There are two places (maybe more) on the island to rent carts for 4 or 6 people. Park your cart at any one of several beach access points, walk over a boardwalk to the sand, and set-up shop for the day. For sunset, consider heading out to the end of the island near Skull Inlet. Also, my son had amazing luck catching blue crab in the feeder creek there, and I caught several 5 - 6" bait-sized fish there that I gave away to the more serious anglers casting into deeper channel water. All in all, fabulous. A wonderful vacay.

Lovely home in a beautiful setting

  • 4 of 5

Thank you Liz and Pete for a lovely stay at your beautiful home. We had supplies for anything we needed (much more so than a typical vacation rental) in a nicely furnished home right on a pond, golf course and just steps from the ocean. The island is nature filled and quaint. If you like the beach, pool and wildlife this is the place for you.

If you are a foodie, you will need to drive off Island for a wider variety of restaurants and do stop on Lady Island and pick up groceries before you come in. It is about a 20 minute trip to the grocery store.

It is a nice, low key place.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved the Vreeland's property. We have been visiting Fripp for 6 years and this has been out favorite place to stay so far. Everything was very nice and clean. We especially loved the screened in porch overlooking the pond. And the outside shower is a big plus too especially with kids who've been on the beach all day! In addition to the wonderful house, the Vreeland's were super nice and checked on us multiple times during or stay. We just loved everything about our stay and can't wait to go back !

Wonderful place with a beautiful view!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was wonderful, which made it so hard to leave. The place is very well decorated, just like a beach cottage. It was very clean and had plenty of room for my family of three. Liz and Pete are extremely sweet and made our stay amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We will definitely return!!

Such a blessing!

  • 5 of 5

I truly enjoyed my stay at Liz and Pete's place. It was comfortable, had everything I needed, and it is located at the quietest part of the island. The screened in porch overlooking the view made my whole trip!! Liz is so kind and hospitable and will do everything in her power to make sure your stay is a good one. The only suggestion I would offer is to put a full length mirror in the main bedroom. Unless I missed seeing it somehow, I had to use the longer mirror in the bunkroom since that is the only longer mirror in the house. Not a huge deal but just a suggestion. :) Overall, it was a wonderful time at Fripp and the house was a big reason why!!

Thanks so much again Liz and Pete!! God bless you. :)

Map

Most people don't like to leave Fripp Island once they arrive for vacation but if you venture off island there are many attractions close by. You have Hunting Island right next door with a historical lighthouse to explore. Beaufort is only 1/2 hour away and is known as the Little Charleston. It's a great place to walk through and explore. There's a horse and buggy tour which is fun and educational. The town is filled with galleries, restaurants, and boutiques! Hilton Head is about an hour ride, Savannah is about a 1 1/2 hour ride and Charleston is a 2 hour ride.
