About James Reeves
We are both third and forth generation Tampa natives. We both are retired and enjoying every minute of it. We now live on a large ski lake in Land-o-Lakes,Fl. just north of Tampa .
Why James Reeves chose Blue Ridge
We vacation in the area in the area in a small travel trailer with our two sons and fell in love with area. We then started looking of a lot on the river to build our cabin. We now spend more time with our grandkids and love it as much as we do.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love the solitude, fireflys, deer, the sounds of the river, dinning on the porch and rain on the tin roof top.

My husband and I and our 3 college age kids stayed for 4 nights and had a wonderful time! The cabin is beautifully situated in the mountains overlooking the Toccoa river which is accessible via steep stairs down to the riverbank. We used the tubes (provided) to go tubing which was awesome. Cabin is cozy and comfortable, with all conveniences. Direct tv did not work for us but wireless internet worked well. Fabulous birdwatching from the porch including hummingbirds and lots of others that come to feed from the two feeders hanging there. If you want peace and tranquility with access to hiking, tubing and shopping in local blue ridge this is a great place!!
Reeves Roost is a very cozy cabin and the views from the porch are amazing. The owners/managers definitely have the interest of vacationers in mind as they there are several items provided to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities We really enjoyed staying in a place on the water. Oh, and it has the best shower ever!
Very nice, very enjoyable weekend.
James needs to get better quality camera that handles low light better. =) The property is covered/surrounded with many trees, hence it tends to be pretty dark inside. But if you go there and see it in person, it doesn't look as dark as the picture may suggest. With those trees, you hardly get rained on on the porch, or even at the drive way!
Drive way is bit steep, but nothing our trusty Outback couldn't handle even on a rainy day. Might be a concern for a sporty RWD cars though!
I think all the mattresses are due for an upgrade! They are saggy.
The river was little too fast for my 6 year old, probably from all the rain they got earlier. We did get in the river, but stayed on the side where it wasn't a rapid. We caught couple of fishes within two three hours we tried. =) Access to river is probably about 3, 4 story down, with nice hand rail all the way down, part stairs, part dirt path.
Plenty of wild life. Lots of birds, hummingbirds at the feeder. At night the flying squirrels would dominate the feeders. They practice flying every night from the porch roof. Saw some wild deers and turkeys also. The rooster wouldn't stop crowing during daytime... although we weren't able to locate him. Hanging out at the swing was one of my favorite thing to do at night.
Amazing! My son was all about the wooden house! Thank you for letting us stay at your cabin!
Quiet and peaceful.
Nice little cabin. We enjoyed the view of the River. The kids loved playing games in the basement. We went tubing off of Aska Rd. Hiked to 6 different waterfalls in the area. Enjoyed dinner at Toccoa Riverside. Great little vacation.
Sounds like you had a good time. Hope you saw a lot of deer. most of the doe's have fawns with them this time of the year. Tubing from right in front of the cabin is fun and convenient. This is also when the fireflies start showing up.My kids catch a jar full every year.
Hope to see you back very soon.
Great Anniversary getaway
I knew I had to do something big. We like to camp in the mountains, so an upscale camping weekend was just right. Hanging out on the deck with the hummingbirds and squirrels was a great way to relax. Great weather.
The cabin was well appointed with everything we needed.
Next time I'll bring a canoe and float / fish down to Sandy Bottoms.
The trip from the cabin to Sandy Bottom is a nice one. Lots of wildlife and not much noise or people just the sounds of the river. I have not seen as many hummingbird as there are this year, I need more feeders !
Please come back soon !!
