Beautiful private home
Large yard, nice sunporch and large outdoor deck. Bedrooms are large and comfortable.
It was our 3rd year at the house.
Large and Affortable House in a Quiet Location
We really enjoyed our stay in this house during the week of July 4th, 2018. It is larger and prettier than it appears in the photos and well furnished. This house is in a quiet and very private location, yet close enough to all major Martha's Vineyard attractions. A vehicle is a big plus, however, as the bus stop to Vineyard Heaven and Oak Bluffs is a good 10-15 minute walk. We brought our vehicle with us, so this was not an issue. The house is at the end of a long driveway off a paved private country road. There are many large houses with big lots in the neighborhood and the roads are great and safe for walking/jogging. Long Pond beach is a 25 minute walk.
There is a large open deck off the sunroom that is well furnished and has a large Weber charcoal grill. We enjoyed the outside shower that has abundant cold and hot water. The bedrooms are roomy and have everything you need. There are fans in all rooms, but not AC. A couple of nights we had to open the windows to let in some fresh air to be able to sleep comfortably. The basement is large, clean and well equipped with games and a pin pong table and a couple of sofa beds. There are newer washer and dryer off the kitchen. Two dehumidifiers in the utility room in the basement seem to be running constantly. We did find many dead bugs behind the sofa beds in the basement.
This house is perfect for a large family that is seeking an affordable option. We would definitely stay again.
unusually private site, friendly layout for a family. Well equipped kitchen& lovely porch
Beautiful secluded property and spacious, bright, accommodating house for family and friends. Unusually Well equipped kitchen; airy screened-in porch was our favorite spot. Lots of board games, beach things and ping pong were on hand. Loved having the two bikes available. Owner responsive—in process of finding new cleaning agency, wgivh is good. If they fixed up lower level bedding options, house could easily hold 8-10 and with little kids on air mattresses, 12. I’d recommend bringing your own bike helmets, and mattress pads, which aren’t always supplied with linens. We’d return any time.
We really liked the privacy.
We were surprised that there was no mattress pad on the bed and that the house was not as clean as it should have been, i.e. the refrigerator and the washing machine. Also the shower head had very little pressure after 30 seconds and the bath drain was slow.
Peaceful and comfortable stay
We loved the privacy that the house offered but it was also really convenient to everything we wanted, either up or down island. Vicki was also very responsive to any questions or needs.
Thanks for the feedback. We’re glad you had a great stay!
Beautiful, convenient location
The house is cozy and close to both a beautiful beach and all the fun things in Tisbury - farmer's market, alley general store, bike paths, etc. You can get to Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, or Edgartown in 15 minutes. Our kids loved the ping pong and foosball in the basement!
Thanks! We're glad you had a good vacation!
Bluffs, and Vineyard Haven. Alley's General Store and the new West Tisbury Library are a 4 minute drive. The House itself sits on 1.7 Secluded, Wooded acres with only the 2-horse barn and corral next door visible. Vineyard Meadow Farms Road is Private and leads to The Longpoint Wildlife Preserve and Beach, one of the vineyard's best Ocean Beaches. The fresh water pond is also great for families.
