About Bethany Brevard

We love to travel and spend time together as a family. The kids are growing up too fast and we treasure every moment that we can have together as a family. So at the we take time to play lots of games and make lots of fires at the lake house!

Bethany Brevard purchased this house in 2015

Why Bethany Brevard chose Clifton

This house was built in 1969 by the Cardwell Family. The property was inherited by the, now adult, grandchildren of the original owners. This house was the original house of the area and the family owned several of the neighboring lots, where other homes now sit. It is the premium spot on the because they were one of the first on the lake! The house sat abandoned for about 10 years. On the weekend of July 4th, 2015 our family rented a property nearby for a vacation. We happened to see a for sale sign in the yard of this house. The next day we noticed someone mowing the lawn and went over to inquire on the house. We met one of the grandson's who had inherited the house and he was kind enough to show us in. We immediately fell in love with the house and the vision of what the house could be. While remodeling this house it was very important to our family to keep the Cardwell family always in mind, as it is their home originally. With that in mind we were able to keep the original stove and build a lovely kitchen around it. We also kept the original rock of the file place as the Cardwell family gathered all of those rocks off the property. Our family felt a deep connection to this home as soon as we walked in the door. And we hope that you feel that connection and peace as well. Enjoy and relax!

What makes this house unique

Amazing view of Lake Whitney through the beautiful sliding glass doors. Bunk house remodel is complete! For a small additional fee, you can add this to your stay. Includes - queen bed, bunk bed (double/twin), air hockey table/pool table and full bath with newly tiled shower.

Canoe and fishing poles on premises for renter use.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I give 5 stars to the hosts because they were helpful and considerate of any situation we had when we had to contact them. We loved the home and the property and had a wonderful time. We found a great little waterpark nearby and all of the kids enjoyed it.

Great vacation rental.

  • 5 of 5

Great vacation rental! Great view of the lake from the picture windows all along the back. We were able to walk down to the lake from the property & get in the lake. Plenty of room/beds for our family to sleep confortable. Enjoyed fishing with the fishing poles & building a fire for s’mores. Thanks Bethany!

Fun Long Weekend on Lake Whitney!

  • 5 of 5

We had the whole family from grandparents to grandchildren and we all had fun. Fishing (my granddaughter caught her very first fish!), swimming, making s'mores (yum), playing games, watching movies and relaxing - it was all wonderful!! The house is lovely and has many great extra touches. The huge windows overlooking the lake are beautiful. We really enjoyed the R&R. Thanks for sharing your beautiful lake house!!

Everything and More!

We absolutely loved the place. It was portrayed in the pictures accurately.

Would have liked access to the additional bunk room, but the place was obviously well maintained and in a great location!

Thank you!

Nice vacation home and lakefront property

  • 3 of 5

The owner was great! She answered questions about our stay very promptly and was very helpful during our vacation. The remodeled house and bunkhouse were perfect for our family. The backyard and lake were lovely and we had a great time playing in the refreshing water, fishing (my family was thrilled with the variety of fish they caught!), and roasting marshmallows in the evenings. One problem/complaint pertains to the wifi. We knew there was no cable or satellite tv available, which was fine. We did expect to have some wifi service but it was very spotty at best. When we booked, the description said that Netflix and Roku were available. Netflix and Roku worked for the first few days that we were there and then was disconnected completely. We think the internet was somehow tied into the neighbor's internet service and we believe they must have turned theirs off completely which resulted in us having no service at all. We were told that the problem was due to weather and/or the tower being far away (across the lake). ??? When one daughter had to turn in an assignment for grad school and another daughter had a phone interview for a new job, we had to go into town to find service. The wii did not work at all. There were a few dvds in the house and a man kindly brought us a few more which we were able to enjoy during our stay. There are a few nicer homes in the neighborhood but most are pretty run down single family houses or trailers and not at all what we expected of a lakefront community. I always enjoy going for a long walk with my dog but only did that once during our stay because we encountered several unfriendly dogs that were loose and roaming and the neighborhood is not very attractive. So, as long as you don't need wifi and strictly enjoy the house and property leading down to the lake, I would recommend this rental.

We love the local restaurants - our favorite is about 7 minutes away - the Four Season's Watering Hole - great daily specials at $5.75 for dinner, sweet tea and dessert - and best part, no wait to be seated!
