Beautiful and peaceful home tucked away in the forest
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay with Roby and his wife, we wish we could have stayed longer!
We were only there for one night, but Roby was very accommodating as soon as we arrived and even allowed us to check in a bit earlier. His property is beautiful, and we loved meeting all of his animals!
The room was clean, cozy and we had a lovely view of the pasture from our window. The room also came with a coffee maker and fridge. The location is so peaceful and feels like you're in the middle of the forest, but town is just a short drive away and we enjoyed some coffee and breakfast at one of the nearby cafes! It got a little chilly at night, but there were extra blankets provided to keep us cozy.
We were delighted to have met Roby and Kayo and hope to return to Big Island soon and stay with them again!
Thank you again!
Thanks Sofie. We look forward to seeing you again sometime.
cosy and quiet place
We've very enjoyed Windspirit Cottage and his studio for 6 days. Not fare from everything.
We appreciate the Lanaï for the breakfast and the diner.... so many fresh fruits and poke bowls to test ! No need of kitchen here.
Roby & Kayo are very nice and helpful and I liked to talk with him.
Pets live their lives and welcome you but never try to come inside the bungalow.
For sure a good place to stay.

Thank you Junko and Dan. I hope you are surviving the cold there. From your pictures it looks very cold. Take care and stay healthy.

Great hosts --Room was comfortable and perfect for my stay.
Thank you for the beautiful days we could spend at your home :-)
A very nice and clean place close to the volcano park and lava area.
Thanks. We hope to see you again some time.
Our hosts were very friendly!!!
It’s quiet and the bungalow was very clean!!
The property is beautiful!! They have a donkey that is so sweet and a little boxer that wants to greet you every morning.
There were a couple of things that we were not prepared for. There is no privacy there. If they would put curtains on the French doors would be the answer. The other thing is .. it gets cold nighttime and they should provide a little space heater, the floors are painted plywood so it’s cold.
Overall we had a nice stay!
Thanks for the feedback. Actually the french doors have curtains but they are lace witch lets to light through and brightens the room. People can see put but people outside cannot see in. We have extra blankets for guests to use on chilly nights. Sorry you were uncomfortable.

Volcanos National Park is the biggest attraction where one can spend days exploring the Park. A trip to the top of Mauna Kea will give you a tast of cold mountain air and clear skies for viewing the stars. Student astronomers are available to provide explanations on the constellations for those who are interested in star gazing.
