A large well maintained villa
The villa while not brand new was well maintained, we had a couple of small problems (leaky kettle, broken dishwasher) but the kettle was replaced the next day and a brand-new dishwasher installed a couple of days later. The owners were very kind and easily contacted. They also own some apartments and a beach front restaurant where they gave us free wine when we stayed there for a meal. All in all an excellent place to stay.
If I had to give a negative comment I would say that the return journey up the hill with shopping was hard. A car while not essential would have made the journey much easier but as there was 11 of us we didn’t want the extra expense of a minibus or a couple of large cars. The walk is less than a mile to the larger shops and the local bars and restaurants and is easily done, if necessary a taxi can be used for the return journey especially when you have been shopping.
We had an excellent cleaner who did a very thorough job of cleaning and changing the beds etc, the pool man also made an appearance a few times to look after the pool.
When it was time to leave we arrange with the owners to have our bags taken to their sea front apartments and restaurant where they gave us the key to a room and where we could use their facilities for the rest of the day, all without extra payment.
I would certainly recommend this villa to anyone who wanted a quiet holiday.
This is not to say here was nothing to do, just a short walk along the front (30 mins) was the centre of Platanias where there is all manner of bars and entertainment. Locally there are probably just two or three dozen bars/restaurants and a scattering of supermarkets, ample for a two week stay of course, especially in a place like Stavros's which like some others is on the edge of the beach.
We all had a great time here and do wish to pass our thanks onto the owners for making it a very pleasant and relaxing stay.
Lovely spacious villa.
Excellent location to get away from it all, stunning scenery. Villa and pool both need maintenance and maybe even some updating. Kitchen not adequate for 12. Clean and tidy, Kiki did a great job. All enjoyed the gym, although some equipment was faulty. Cold jacuzzi was great after a workout, but we missed the advertised hot tub. Towels and linen good quality and plentiful.
All in all a great experience.
Gorgeous villa in a splendid spot.
This very spacious house was better than we imagined. There was more than enough space for the large group that we were (7 adults, 4 kids). The pool and terrace are amazing, the view is stunning. Crete is lovely.
A tranquil, Greek delight in the hills
Wonderful first impressions and the property did not fail to please ,with its luxurious decor and facilities.
Breathtaking views and plenty of space .
Nicely decorated rooms, indoor and outdoor pool with relaxing outdoor seating, gym inside also.
A lovely ,peaceful location
Thank you very much for your nice words. We hope to see you again.
Overall we had a fantastic time at Villa Seli. We wanted a last minute holiday for us and our two kids and found this villa with a good price and near Chania the town we wanted to visit. We stayed for six nights and we where well impressed. The owne met us and show us the villa, the villa had everything you need and the best part was that it was all to our selves. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your nice comments.
Only five minutes' walk out of the old village of Gerani, the narrow stony ascent to the villa cuts through olive and orange groves. As you approach the villa you are carried back a hundred years to the traditional agrarian economy of Crete: from its hill-top position surrounded by olive trees, the villa commands spectacular views to Gerani and Maleme bay and unspoilt countryside, carpeted with more olive groves and orange orchards. Olive farming has been the dominant industry in this area for centuries if not millennia.
