The Costa Blanca / Valencia region
Welcome to this exciting and enchanting part of Spain. This region stretches from Valencia (the city that invented paella, is home to Formula 1 and Americas Cup racing) in the north to Alicante (a bustling, light harbor and holiday town with lively nightlife) in the south.
Along the white coast of the Costa Blanca you will find some of the most popular beaches in Spain, including Javea, Denia, Moraira, Altea, Benissa and Calpe, with blue flag beaches, excellent sports activities, beautiful marinas and fishing ports surrounded by restaurants and bars some of the best of the traditional cuisine of Spain.
The World Health Organization has designated the North Costa Blanca as one of the most beautiful climates found anywhere. The EU has awarded many of the beaches in the area to the prestigious 'blue flag' for water quality and cleanliness that has been running for several years.
The coastline has some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain, as well as pleasant nature reserves such as La Albufera, a freshwater lake known for its birdlife, eels, plateaus and surrounding restaurants in Paella - and charming towns such as Altea - one of the nicest little pueblos the coast of Valencia - as well as the tourist mecca of Benidorm with its beautiful beaches and fantastic nightlife.
Alfaz center is a five minute drive from the villa. Everything you need for your vacation is available. There are banks where you can attend English, Norwegian, German, French and of course Spanish. There are many shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, hairdessers and beauticians. The local Friday morning market is ideal for clothing, souvenirs and fresh flowers, vegetables and fruit. Also in the center of Alfaz is the Casa de Cultura (cultural center) where there are often shows, fiesta's. The center is the hub of the city where everyone comes together. Next to the cultural building is the sports center with fitness and tennis facilities. Alfaz is a favorable residence for all Europeans because of the climate, and although isvery cosmopolitan, it still retains a very Spanish feeling.
Alfaz has a beautiful cobbled beach in the quiet but luxurious town of Albir, which is a ten minute drive away, or a local bus can be taken from the center of Alfaz to Albir. From Albir you can walk along the promenade to the harbor and the marina of the picturesque old Spanish town of Altea, where you can relax in one of the fantastic sea-side cafés. Altea is rightly known as 'A jewel in the Valencia region'. This picturesque city overlooks the sea over one of the most beautiful bays on the Mediterranean. Over the centuries, Altea has been welcomed (or conquered by Iberians) by the Iberians, Romans, Moors and Christians, all of whom have contributed to the special culture of these coastal areas. The old town, with a stroll through the cobbled streets and past the designer boutiques and craft shops to the 'Domed Church' plaza at the top, must be on everyone's itinerary. In the Plaza, the cultural and leisure center of Añtea is the beautiful church of the Virgen del Consuelo (Our Lady of Solace). Altea's peace and tranquility have made it a paradise for artists and craftsmen.
The thriving tourist metropolis of Benidorm is only fifteen minutes from twenty to twenty minutes drive from the villa, with the four large amusement parks Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar, ideal to preserve the family content.
Discover everything that is hidden in the Mediterranean. Egypt, Greece, Rome and the Islands, thousands of years turned into moments of fun emotions and adrenalin. You will find so many journeys that you do not have enough breath to do them all. This is the largest amusement park on the coast with excitement for all ages.
