I have two children, ages 21 and 17, and we we have lived in Bend for over 10 years. I taught Spanish at a local high school the past 10 years and was in elementary education for almost 20 in California. I got my real estate broker's license at the end of 2017 and am thrilled to be working with Keller Williams Central Oregon. I'd love to help you find your dream home in Bend, should you decide to stay permanently, buy a second home or find an investment property. I am very involved in cycling (of all kinds) and skiing. Bend has been an incredible place to raise my kids because of its natural beauty and all of the outdoor activities that are so easily accessible. We love to get out and enjoy all the trails here, float and paddle the river and relax at the many nearby lakes. We love to visit friends and family in southern California and Truckee, as well as travel to places where we can practice our Spanish. I love to share all that I can about Bend; this amazing place I get to call home! I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.
Jill Ballantyne purchased this cottage in 2012
I found this property about 5 years ago. There was a single wide trailer that I had removed in order to build my own home. There is a huge volcanic rock (20' X 20') that sits in the middle of the property and is a natural barrier between my home and the Casita. The rock is my favorite feature and is where the name "Casita de la Roca" comes from. The best part of this location is that the river is 1/10 of a mile from my door! You can carry your raft, kayak or paddle board down to the river and go! Walk 1/2 mile upstream for some class 4 rapids and some sweet fishing spots. There is a beautiful park 1/4 mile away with a playground and walking paths which take you to the Old Mill area with numerous shops and restaurants. I LOVE my home and hope you will, too!
If you love a quiet, peaceful, natural environment, I know you will love this home. In summer, leave the windows open and enjoy the sound of the river! The Deschutes River Trail is right across the street and not to be missed. There are not many places that allow you to hop in the river from home and take the river all the way to town! I've had guests float the river from the house, hop out to have a beer at Red Robin, and then continue the float to Drake Park! This is truly a magical place!
What a great experience at the Casita! I surprised my lovely wife with Paul Simon tickets and found this fantastic place when I was looking for something close to the venue and small enough for two people. The casita met and exceeded my expectations. It was clean, quiet and really well located. We were able to get to the river easily for our tubing adventure and it was close enough to the amphitheater that we walked there in about 40 minutes. Really nice location. And Jill was very kind. My wife and I stay in VRBO's regularly and both felt this one knocked it out of the park. Thanks for a great visit, Jill! We'll be back!
We loved our stay in the Casita. The property is clean, comfortable, and extremely well-equipped. My 6'4" husband was excited that he actually fit under the rainfall shower head!
The location is quiet but great for walking or cycling along the river. We highly recommend the property and hope to stay in the Casita for our next visit to Bend.
My wife and I stayed here during our summer vacation in Bend. The location was great. The proximity to the river and town was really nice. Everything about the location and property were great!
Jill was super inviting even though I didn't get to the house until 10 pm. And the house is so cute and comfortable.
Casita comes with all your necessitates. Just blocks from the river walk and Old Mill District. Thanks for an enjoyable week in Bend.
Quaint, well-apportioned and convenient to town/river. We loved it!
