About the property

2 BR (1 large studio), 1 & 1/2 Bath, 57' Lakefront, Wraparound Deck And Dock!

Wake up to the beautiful sunrise on Cayuga Lake, sip coffee on the wraparound deck or on the dock where the fishing is right there for you to enjoy. 57' of lakefront. Very private. Blue herons like to fish there at dawn and dusk - and a pair of ospreys can be observed diving for fish right around the dinner hour. So you know the fishing is good!

Boating, wine trails, the new Del Lago casino and events center, and other attractions await your family. If you have a boat you can bring it,we have 3 docks. Or there are boat and kayak rentals right down the road at Cayuga State Park, along with a nice swimming beach and playground.

Two new kayaks and Old Town canoe for your use on site at no charge. Extra docks next door, too. There is a sandbar close by where boats like to gather. Life jackets are also supplied. Firepit by the water with wood for burning. New gas grill with propane on side deck.

Cottage is bright and comfortable with amenities and panoramic views. New stainless steel stove and dishwasher added. A/C units up and down (4). Very comfortable right on the water......

Enjoy a complimentary lake wine and snack on your arrival when booking a full week stay.

The house is clean and comfortable - but not so fancy that guests can't just enjoy themselves and the outdoors. Living room and kitchen area in front of the house are spacious and great for relaxing and entertaining (new flooring and paint 3/2017). Kitchen table for dining and wifi/full cable channels available throughout the house, up and down. Cellphone service is good on land and on water.

1st floor back bedroom (with lake outside door) has queen double foam core queen fold out futon, full sleeper, and new Ikea furniture. Or can also be used as a second large living space if desired. Large bath with whirlpool tub also on first floor, with stacking laundry. Kids can also tent right outside if they choose.

Upstairs studio has a queen bedroom set, daybed, 1/2 bath, 2 fold-away twins, and a set of bunk beds. Lots of quiet space for sleeping, playing games, and listening to the waves lap up onto the shore as the moonlight glows over the lake. Great cross breezes - A/C unit in each bedroom. Each floor has ceiling fans in every room (except baths).

The Blue Heron has off-road parking for 2 vehicles. Ask about additional parking which can be arranged on site. Two lakeside restaurants are just a short walk for your convenience. Miniature golf/ golf course, playgrounds all nearby. Great lakeside road for biking.

Of course, the Finger Lakes offer wine trails all around, including within a few miles. Wine tours can be arranged right from the cottage! Great shopping at the Fingerlakes outlet mall, and the new casino event center is 7 miles north. Lots of sightseeing in the area, including Taughannock Falls. Destinations such as Ithaca, Geneva, Skaneateles, Canandaigua, and Rochester are all in the area. Montezuma wildlife refuge, Corning Glass Museum and Niagara Falls are some of the attractions that can be easily enjoyed in a day.

About Laurie

We've lived and boated on Cayuga for 8 years now. We jumped at the chance to offer this newly acquired cottage to others so that they can experience the joy of living on the water, as we do, while being able to enjoy all of the everyday activities that the Finger Lakes have to offer.

We started out renting a cottage years ago, made good friends from the experience, and then looked for a place for ourselves. We now love having our place at the lake, and when this cottage came up and we knew how much potential it had, we decided to purchase. Our first rental year has gone extremely well and we've truly enjoyed it.

Laurie purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Laurie chose Seneca Falls

This cottage has the water right outside your door. Guests can sit on the deck or the dock and have their coffee. It's bright and airy, and the wildlife activity in and on the lake is awesome. Bald eagles are nesting and fishing here more and more!

There is privacy here like no other, because just a few of the properties nearby on this stretch of road are lakeside - and yet it's still close to all the amenities of the town. Usually cottages are on top of each other when lakefront, but not this one.

We spend a lot of the summer there and we can't wait to get back to the everyday joy of living on the lake. We'll continue to take new pictures as the dock goes back in, and we make the outside yard and deck just as beautiful as the surroundings. The cottage is year-round, and the fishing is crazy right from Spring on. The Summer season, and into the Fall, is so beautiful here.

Also, if the weather isn't cooperating, (which is usually brief on the lake), there is plenty to do in the area.

What makes this cottage unique

The views are awesome! The house is cozy and comfortable. The floor plan is great for sharing. With large sleeping quarters up and down - guests can share the cottage either between two families, kids up and adults down, or whatever combination works best for your group. Water sports outside your back door. Lots to do all around - or just relax and do nothing but enjoy the peace and quiet.

Relaxing, beautiful area of NY

  • 4 of 5

Went for a long "sisters weekend" and had a great time. The area is beautiful! The home is cozy and fully stocked with everything you need. 2 restaurants/bars within walking distances. Many hiking trails and wineries close by. Would love to come back with ALL of my sisters!

The property was clean and neat and roomy. There were plenty of towels, blankets, etc. and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating.

The house suited our needs perfectly.

  • 4 of 5

The cottage suited the needs of a couple and 3 adult women attending a family affair in Seneca Falls on Saturday the 30th. A nice single family or 2 family accommodation. Kitchen had all one needed; dining table sat 8 easily; comfortable living room.

Due to limited time we did not enjoy the kayaks or canoe on the lake.

All was clean and well maintained. The State Park nearby would be a nice amenity in the summer months.

Good value for money vs hotel alternative costs for this Fall weekend.

Great house on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 stayed at this house on Cayuga Lake for 4 days in early summer. The home is perfect for people who want nice views of the morning sunrise and easy access to the lake. Home owners live next door, and were very accommodating. Kitchen was supplied with all that we needed and home owners took care to ensure that we had plenty of linens and paper products etc. Huge bonus was that we were able to use kayaks and canoes that were provided with the home rental. The home is easy to find and is within a short (less than a mile) walking distance to restaurants and Cayuga Park.

Our children are 8 and 3 and loved having the upstairs "loft" area to themselves (we slept in downstairs bedroom). If parents prefer, there are plenty of beds in upstairs loft (and sink/toilet) for mom and dad to stay with their children.

One hour drive to Skaenateles is worth the trip. Seneca Falls is quaint and cute. Easy access to many of the wineries in the Finger Lakes region.

Definitely recommend this home for a Finger Lakes vacation!

Relaxing family get-away....

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Hunter and Laurie's place on the way from visiting family in Toronto. It was one of the most relaxing vacations ever. We had a fire by the lake every night and enjoyed the wineries during the day. My three teenagers enjoyed the kayaks and canoes and fishing off the dock. There was plenty of room and all of the necessities. Would highly recommend for a family "unwind".
