About Angela Giampolo
Life isn't a dress rehearsal - you only live once so make the most of it and travel as much as possible! Through traveling is where we really find out what we're made of. I enjoy rugged traveling just as much as luxury traveling - it just depends what my mood calls for. I love to entertain so you'll find that the house is set up for having fun - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

This place was a Wow! It served all our needs in a comfortable, open space.
The minute you walk in the door, you know you are going to love this place. With a 4 year old and a dog in our party of 5, it is a challenge to find lodgings at all. With theee floors, two baths, and lots of open space, this property was awesome. It is nicely decorated without being forbidding and hands-off. Many of our friends that live in Philadelphia and it’s suburbs came to see us. All were impressed. Our host was very responsive to communications, and to our comfort. All combined for a most enjoyable stay.
Beautiful, updated, stylish, convenient.
Recent renovations have left the property feeling fresh and clean. My group experienced a maintenance concern upon arrival and we reached out to Angela, who did every single thing, and then more, to make it right.
I read reviews here debating the neighborhood, and I will say that meeting one particular neighbor was one of the highlights of our visit. The outdoor space behind the condo was peaceful and pretty.
The property was clean and very accommodating for our large group. A corner grocery store was handy for last minute items. Furnishings were thoughtfully placed to maximize use of the space- a large table to seat many, extra table seating, a bed with trundle, and plenty of air mattresses. The bedrooms are huge and spacious.
Angela is fantastic to work with and we've kept in touch since our visit. We enjoyed our correspondence with her so much that we hope to stay at one of her other properties for a future visit. A beautiful place to stay!
Hi Tracey, thank you for the kind review and I still think of your crew often! I hope you return :-)
Ok, but would not recommend for the current price range
We stayed one month on Chateau Ang-Lux as a temporary residence in Philadelphia. We were moving from overseas to US and were looking for a nice family-friendly place to settle until we found a permanent residency in Philadelphia. For that and considering that we were moving with 2 young children (ages 2 and 3), we were prepared to pay a little more (more than 2 times the regular monthly rent in the area) in order to get a safe and comfortable place to arrive to after the international move. Chateau Ang-Lux is located in a reasonable area, not that close to the center city to walk on a daily basis but close enough if you take the train. Newbold is far from being a great neighborhood, the streets are full with litter and parking is a bit of an issue there depending on the time of the day. But you can generally say it's safe. The house itself was ok, but the furniture and the house in general needs maintenance and repair (definitely not suitable for small children and I think Angela should make this clear in someway description of the place). Cleaning was far from good, but I guess cleaning standards are subjective. The internet connection and cable were great. The landlord and her assistants were helpful and you can easily get in touch with them by email. My general view, trying to be honest and fair, is that the place is ok for short trips and occasions, but is a bit overpriced for what it provides and for its location and it is not suitable for small children.
Spacious Well Equipped Home
Lovely spacious home in convient close to Center City. Owner easy to work with. Thanks.
spacious; some maintenance problems
South Philly is not the best part of town; We used Uber and were able to get anywhere for about $6-$8. There are a few great restaurants less than a mile away. The Liberty Bell is only 2.1 miles but we used Uber to get there. The rooms were large and the remodel was almost completed. Some major (hopefully nonrecurring) broken items were quickly addressed by the owner who was out of town. She had friends and maintenance people come right away. Overall, we enjoyed the place and our stay.
David was lovely to have in my home and especially despite the maintenance issues that happened (all non-recurring!) that had never happened in 5 years and decided to all happen during his stay! He was gracious and understanding and appreciative of the fact that I made sure everything was addressed w/in minutes of him reaching out.
Would love to host him and his family again in the future.
The house was in a suspect area at night. The fridge was full of old leftovers, and the back yard was filled with dirty trash so the deck wasn't really pleasant. Was disappointed with the space but it Was nice other than that.
The area is a booming and gentrified area in Philadelphia ("Newbold") with foodie heaven just 5 blocks away on Passyunk Ave - this is evidenced by all the new homes going up. With that said, there are African-American people who live on the block and some find that automatically equates to a "suspect area". My scooter has been outside of my house for 3 years and never stolen and everyone on the block treats each other like family.
We just did a major renovation ofl the 3rd floor master bath - all brand new - and that was the trash in the alley way. Other than the construction, the trash is removed twice a week.
