This is the perfect getaway spot for folks who just want to chill and relax for a few days, a week or a month. We are also 15 minutes away from Lakepoint Sports Complex. Big enough to host a family reunion, but cozy enough for a romantic weekend with your honey. Each room has its own décor theme, the master suite is INCREDIBLE, and the house has plenty to keep you entertained like pool, games, and dish network. We have worked hard to make our home your home.

About KATHERINE TAHERI
Katherine bought our beautiful home just before September 11th, 2001, and it quickly became a refuge for family and friends to gather and share the important things in life! She is creative, and is an artist and writer. During her business career she owned several businesses, including an Irish Pub, and retired in 2014. Zach, her son, is an Epic Programmer for Stanford Children's Hospital and currently lives in Half Moon Bay with his wife, Laura. Her eldest son, Pehr, lives in Cartersville. Katherine and Kuni live in Rockmart on a farm that invites boarding dogs for stay-vacations while their humans are on holiday.
KATHERINE TAHERI purchased this House in 2001
Why KATHERINE TAHERI chose Cartersville
You could not find a better sit back and relax place than this home. We are within 15 minutes from Lake Point Sporting Community, and within a 15 minute walk to a Environmental Preserve. Cartersville is halfway between Atlanta and Chattanooga or the Georgia Mountains. There are several nearby rivers for boating and fishing. We are also within 30 minutes to both Kennesaw State University and Martha Berry College. And frankly, it is just a great place to stay!
What makes this House unique
Each room has a unique feel. Because of the distance to the next home, the stillness invites peaceful moments on the porches or for conversation, reading, hiking, sleeping!

Amazing retreat in the woods, a creative delight
The hosts were great, the home was unique, clean, & secluded. We loved the location & the creative touches throughout the property. More than we expected!!
Such apeaceful repite from our busy lives
Your house is so warm and welcoming this is our third year here and we just love it. Your house is big enough to allow our entire family to gather for a few days and talk and laugh and eat and eat. We visited historic downtown Cartersville - the shops were all so friendly. Highly recommend!
Sandy and her family have already reserved for next Thanksgiving and we are so grateful. They seem to love the ease of our place and the proximity to wonderful Cartersville, and their being at our place feels now as if family are there! The home is enjoyed AND respected. And the clean up is simple after their stay. They are welcome any time! Great guests!
Absolutely PERFECT for our family - We loved it
Your home is wonderful, and we will absolutely request to rent it again. Two major glitches, though: 1. In the VRBO info, no mention is made to bring our own firewood. After my husband drove into Cartersville to buy firewood, we learned you kept it under the tarp in the driveway. However, we only found 3 small pieces of wood under the tarp....so disappointing on a cold and very wet weekend. Please keep that stocked or inform your guests to bring their own. 2. The smoke detector above the basement steps kept going off...no smoke in the house, only a brisket in the oven. We looked for batteries but found no 9 volt. When we tried to "borrow" the battery from the upstairs smoke detector, we learned it had no battery in it. Please be sure your maintenance people check and replace these batteries....this could prove serious for guests.
These may seem small issues, but your home is wonderfully out in the woods and the necessity to drive in to find firewood or 9 volt batteries to stop a screaming smoke detector should not be necessary.
Other than these....we loved, loved your uniquely and beautifully decorated home as well as your hospitality and plan to schedule another visit in early spring.
Oh Cristy, I didn't know about the wood until I got there to clean. We would have been happy to add more over your stay. So sorry. With colder weather coming on, the wood does get eaten up faster. Thank you for letting us know. Again, about the fire detector, we will put a battery In it today. We would always just be a phone call away. For some reason it was not beeping when we were over there. to clean so I had no idea. It is a great idea to keep extra 9 volt batteries in the kitchen If you had expenses re the firewood or a nine volt battery, please call me with your address and I can reimburse you. Please always call a host when something is not right just so they know about the issue and to make your stay more comfortable.
You would be so welcome to return. Do come back! You left the home beautifully.
The perfect place to relax!
This was the perfect place to get away from the everyday activities and enjoy the outdoors! From the one lane drive through the woods to the house, I knew I had picked the right place for 8 girlfriends to enjoy. The house was SO nice with a fun, artsy feel to it. It was comfortable wlth many venues to enjoy, from the back deck to the front porch, to the fire pit and of course the whole inside and outside! During the day we visited Barnsley Gardens, The Booth Museum and had lunch downtown Cartersville. There are many fun shops to discover also. Cards and games were played at the dining room table after dinner and the fire pit. Walks in the woods were taken many times during the day. We just loved it and are so glad that we know where we can go to get away from the everyday routines of life. Thanks guys for sharing this retreat!
Happy Camper, Shannon
Shannon and friends were perfect guests! They let us know they arrived and that the house was just right for their group. And again, when they departed, we spoke, and they gave me a report of their time and what they did to clean up before departing (i.e. dishes and sheets and towels used!). This is so helpful in getting ready for the next guests who were due in the next day. Such a great review above, left us and our home very happy. And they even left some dry goods for the clean up staff, which they appreciated! Thank you so much for being great guests!
A great spot to be.
The house was very clean, warm, and well equipped. It was also about a private as a house could be. We'll be back.
Thank you Stephen and the other five in the ”6-pack”, 3 couples who travel together. Loved your illustrated entries in our house book. Our house was left in perfect condition after their 5 day stay. Terrific guests!!
This property is amazing!
Wow! Even More than we were expecting! Beautiful house, peaceful grounds. Well eqipped kitchen. Great grill. All the Beds are incredibly comfortable. The hummingbirds on the trumpet vine on the back porch were so much fun to watch and so many of them. Also on the front porch was a family of wrens. So Adorable. The front porch is a must for early morning coffee. Secluded and peaceful, we looked forward to waking up! Bottom floor and upstairs bedroom are quiet and very relaxing. Our son is a guitarist and loved the seclusion of the basement. Its like another house down there! We hosted a family get together in the main part of the house. The sectional is huge and accommodated everyone perfectly. We didnt want to leave. Thank you for an absolutely restful and relaxing stay. Definitely would like to return and recommend to anyone wanting a totally zen experience in the woods!
We are the perfect house for those participating in Lakepoint Sports. In addition, the Tellus and Western Art Museums are in Cartersville, nearby Gulfing and, most importantly, we are adjacent to the private Pettit Environmental Preserve, on Lake Dellinger, which had over 4 miles of trails for exploring Geogia's eco systems.
