About Patricia Striegel

I like to renovate homes and love the creative aspect of working with tools. I installed all the wainscotting in both bathrooms and bought a wet saw to install the new bathroom slate and marble floors. It took me 4 months to complete all the slate and marble work on the new master bathroom...

I also like to garden and if you like flowers - I have an entire summer of blooming flowers.

Patricia Striegel purchased this house in 2004

Why Patricia Striegel chose Northeast

I bought my home 13 years ago because it was the perfect configuration - master bedroom/bath on one side and 2 guest rooms/bath on the other. The kitchen and family room is open concept and the perfect place to cook, have a cocktail, and socialize.

What makes this house unique

Little Wolf Lake is a private lake and you do not get the noise or speeding boats. It is the perfect lake for the intimate water experience of paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming. Also, the lake is spring fed and on sunny days - it is crystal clear.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi, For those considering renting next year, you will be able to enjoy a new master bedroom and bathroom. The master bedroom is double the original size and features french doors so you can lay in bed and look out at the lake. Also, a new master bath suite will feature an airtub and walk in shower. The guest bathroom has also been updated with new marble and granite details.

A Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Six seniors spent 3 lovely nights at Briar Cliff this fall. The house is beautifully appointed with fine linens and a complete gourmet kitchen. Just like home. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable.

The lake view is beautiful, as is the property. We hated to leave. The location is so nice; quiet and private but minutes away from good, basic stores in Lewiston. The burgers at Talley's are as good as we remembered them to be.

Our homeowner was a joy to work with, and she maintains a most desireable home. We hope to return again some Autumn in the future. I highly recommend this getaway destination.

Had a great time with a family of 4 adults and 3 kids. Used the paddle boards and kayaks many times. That kept us busy during the days. Good fishing off of the paddle boat. Caught many pike and bass. The house was wonderful, has everything you need. Ate dinner every day out on the deck. The view was beautiful.

Gorgeous and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had such a lovely time staying here! The lake was quiet and the assortment of watercraft was phenomenal. Our kids loved zipping about in the kid-sized kayaks, and that paddleboat was unlike any I've ever seen--so easy to use, comfortable and perfect for fishing trips. We rarely saw a boat with a motor and when we did they were very respectful with their speed. The house is extremely comfortable and clean, and the new bath in the elegantly remodeled bathroom (the owner did much of the work herself, and she's a real craftswoman) was a huge plus! All in all the only upgrade we'd love is a king-sized bed in the master bedroom. Otherwise I wouldn't change a thing! You can't go wrong vacationing here.

Peaceful, lovely destination

  • 5 of 5

The home and setting are great for a relaxing, peaceful vacation for those who enjoy lake kayaking; lake fishing; paddle boarding (ask the owner); and, on the nearby Au Sable river, easy river kayaking/tubing/canoeing and trout fishing; as well as for those who simply want a quiet place to relax and spend time with family or friends. I have rented a handful of vrbo homes for past vacations--all were nice for their purpose as a home base from which to explore nearby national parks. This home is different in that the home/setting is itself the destination--and it excellently serves that purpose. The kitchen is super stocked with all the utensils you might need; the three beds are very comfortable (not sure about the sofa beds, though); the master bath is a luxurious treat; there is space to spread out, given the separate family room; electronics are nice; the house is not cluttered and is very clean. . . . Thirteen miles away is the Parmalee Trading Post, which provides kayaks, etc. for the Au Sable River--we took the 3.5 hour trip, enjoying the slightly faster (very easy) first half of the trip (the 1.5 hour trip is on slower moving water; i.e., more paddling). . . . If you are interested in fly fishing the Au Sable, do your research beforehand--the fisherman in our family spent a lot time trying to find access points and sections of the river that had proper current. . . . The owner provided 2 full-size kayaks, 2 children's kayaks, 2 paddle boards, and the paddle boat. The shore at the house is "soft" (silt deposit typical for that side of lakes), but it did not cause us (5 adults) any problems--we easily boarded the watercraft from the dock. For those who have young children, across the lake is a nice shallow swimming area, accessible via the paddle boat, and, as can be seen from the photos, the owner has landscaped a nice little beach area on her property (contrary to most homes on the lake that have kept the reedy shoreline entirely). . . . The loons were a treat for us. . . . The owner is friendly, generous, and responsive. I highly recommend this rental.

Beautiful home in a great Setting

  • 5 of 5

This house is amazing, beautifully appointed and furnished, very clean. We had 4 adults, my husband and I, our two daughters, age 4 and 6, and my parents. The house was perfect, we had more than enough space to spread out. The setting is gorgeous with the lake, deck and fire pit. We used the paddleboat many times, it was great for running around the lake and for fishing. The location was great - plenty to do with the Twin Lakes nearby. We had one rainy day and headed to the movies and exploring in Gaylord which was close too. Would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great place to stay and a wonderful owner to work with.

Truly Amazing

  • 5 of 5

This house is even more beautiful in person than the pictures could ever be. Perfect location just a few minutes from town. The house has everything you could need. Sitting on the deck, cruising around the lake on the paddle boat, or just relaxing inside, this place is perfect for everyone. And I have to mention the master bath, absolutely perfect. Has to be seen in person to truly appreciate it. Thanks again, and we will be back next year.
