Hyannis on the Inner Harbor
Our families stay was fantastic. Hyannis has always been my second home away from home and this trip was very special.
Michael was A wonderful host and it was truly a pleasure to experience his home in such a picturesque, historic part of Hyannis.
The inner harbor has continuous activity with the island ferry’s; commercial vessels and pleasure boats. The sun sets are amazing and the quiet setting is unforgettable.
Thank you Mike for a great vacation.
The property and location were great!
We loved our stay! The property and the location were great! All of the comforts of home were provided and the owner was always available if we needed anything or had any questions. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely consider staying here again.
Thank you all very much it was a pleasure having you you were wonderful be glad to have you anytime again
Great House - Great Location
From the back deck - you can watch the ferries come and go. Great view - but if you want to go to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard - this is the way to go. Your walk to the Ferry - 5 minutes - no driving and more importantly - no parking. You can walk to the restaurants on the Harbor and on Main Street. Right off the main roads to the great cape beaches. Everyday we had a beach adventure - we loved the beaches in Wellfleet. There are beaches to walk to from the house if you are not in the mood for the drive. House has everything you need and Michael is very attentive!
No need to hesitate...
Great experience. Great view of the harbor. Centrally located. We visited 5 nearby beaches by car. Walking distance to shopping, dining, ice cream, and sight seeing opportunities. Super kid friendly. Attentive owner. Highly recommended.
Great location and place
I recommend this place for a number of reasons:
* Great location -- we walked to the beach, Nantucket ferry, restaurants, baseball, and main st, barely used our car at all.
* Awesome views -- it was really enjoyable being right on the harbor, and we had beautiful water views from the living room, kitchen, one of the bedrooms, and the backyard. (One caveat -- the dock at the back of the house was a nice plus, but it is a shared dock, so people with their boats there would occasionally need to walk along a path adjacent to the backyard to get to the boat. We didn't mind at all, but some people might be thrown by the random people walking along the perimeter of the backyard.)
* Modern amenities -- everything was very clean and functional. The beds were really comfortable, the house had central air, tv with tons of stations, dishwasher, disposal, good stove, etc. Some of the rooms had a bit of a dated '80s decor feel, but the amenities in general were all very modern.
* Attentive owner -- the owner told us we were the first to ever rent out his house, and as such, he wasn't completely ready for us when we arrived because he had underestimated how much work it would take to get his house in order to rent out. Despite that, we were only delayed moving in about an hour, and he brought over a few of the things he had forgotten to have on hand later that night. (He was staying about 10-15 minutes away.) He also texted us a few times while we were there to see if there was anything we needed, giving us tips on the area, and checking in. I imagine regular visitors to Hyannis wouldn't necessarily need this help as much, but he gave a lot of good advice for people who might not be familiar with the cape. Also, we didn't have any issues at all with the place, but my impression is that he would have been there really quickly to address them if we did.
For all these reasons, we'd stay here again.
Hyannis Harbor is a vibrant active harbor. There are many pleasure boaters, charter boats, and fishing boats passing by on a continual basis. The Hy-Line Ferry Boats carrying hundreds of passengers going to and from the Islands are only yards away from your deck several times a day. You can walk a couple of hundred feet and take a boat to Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard. You can sit on the deck and watch the big sky as the sun starts to go down and see the many different colors of a beautiful sky. Ocean Street, and Main Street are only steps away were you can go for breakfast, a drink, or dinner. Or just to walk along the bulkhead and checkout all boats tied up. You can even walk over to McKeon Field and watch the Cape League Baseball games. The finest amateur baseball in the country. Or merely sit on the deck and watch the world go by. The location is truly, in my opinion, one of the greatest places to relax and still be able to observe all that goes on around you.
