Lark Harbour House is a Seaside Heritage Home. It has been operating successfully as a vacation rental property since 2012. Typical of other fishing houses of the time, the two story, two bedroom home is constructed of local pine, some planks 12 to 18 inches wide. The house is fully furnished. In the living room you will find a sofa bed, a rocking chair and a lovely high backed seat. Sit in the rocker and watch the fishermen go off for their morning catch and maybe see a whale chasing a pod of porpoises. Appliances are brand new and the kitchen is fully stocked - all you need to bring are your groceries, which you can pick up on your way out from Corner Brook or at the local grocery/ liquor/ gas station two minutes from the house. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms and an office. Sit at the office and write as you look out to the sea and mountains. Bedroom one has a double bed and bedroom two has a couple of twin beds. You will notice the absolute silence within the house as you drift off to slumber, a comment frequently mentioned by guests. You will fall asleep to silence and wake up to seagulls in the harbour, a calming and gentle way to arise. Sit at the dining room table as you have your morning coffee or take it outside and sit in one of the Muskoka chairs. As you are in a fishing community, you can stroll down the road and maybe chat with a fisherman coming in with his daily catch. You may be able to buy yourself some fresh lobster, crab, cod, mackerel, halibut or whatever fish is in season.

This property thus has historical significance for us and we are very happy to now have the opportunity to keep it running as a vacation rental. We are sure you will develop a love of the property as we currently do.

Wonderfully peaceful rest by the ocean in an exquisitely maintained little Heritage house.
Wonderfully maintained and cared-for c 1890 little house.
Right by the ocean, quiet, peaceful and most alluring.
We had the most restful night's rest imaginable.
Thanks so much - we are so happy that you enjoyed your stay :)
Great house and area
We hiked and explored the trails which were great. The house was quite interesting and comfortable
So happy that you enjoyed your stay!
Clean and welcoming, an amazing place.
We loved Lark Harbour and the home was perfect for our family of five. Close to hiking trails, groceries, enjoying a cup of coffee on the water and a campfire in the evening, this was the perfect place to get away from it all. The hospitality and responsiveness of Shelley was great and we would definitely come back again. The house is not huge but it felt very spacious for our family. Thank you for a wonderful visit, we hope to be back again!
Thanks Jacinda for your review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to future visits.
Great Location, great little village made special by the residents!
Nice little house, well cared for and clean. Host left fresh bread and jam for us, nice touch. Close to many hiking trails and not far from Corner Brook. Couple of hours and you are in Gros Morne too. But the one thing that made this house special are the people of Lark Harbour, they made us feel welcome the day we arrived. Nice bar about 10 houses away, convenience store about 30 houses away. Only one minor issue, my son in law is 6 foot 6 and had a few bumps with the doorways and stairs to the second floor.. ouch! House is from 1890 though, which makes is pretty cool. (oldest house in bay island area).
A little slice of heaven!
This is a special place Tiny fishing village with big heart! The house was immaculate. Everything you need is there. The location has a view that is breathtaking! Wonderful hospitality from the owner Mike. Thank you for a great introduction to Newfoundland life.

The house had everything we needed. We travelled to Gros Morne from here to hike - a beautiful drive. We truly enjoyed our 4 days. We would definitely return to Lark Harbour House.
