This property is off the value scale. There are just too many amenities to use in one trip. The owner has exceptional taste and has thought of everything. If there is a down side, we could not find it.
Beautiful, luxurious lake side home.
Dianne was very nice to work with and answered all questions promptly, and was very helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area, distances to places, etc.. The home is as described, and is lovely. Spectacular views and many extra amenities, especially for enjoying the lake and dock. The lake is fairly quiet, and we saw loons on the lake, and moose not far from the house! Our granddaughters used the kayaks, row boat and paddle boats and even swam off the dock! Wet suits are there as well.
Kitchen well stocked for cooking meals, bring your own fresh foods, plenty of seating, most comforts of home. Plenty of towels, and supplies for a weeks stay. Fire pit great for evening hot dog roast and s'mores. Lawn chairs, outdoor games, activities, and picnic tables as well.
Great location for seeing lots of sights. We took day trips, going to Seward from Anchorage, before heading to the house, where we did Seavey's Ididaride Dog Sledding (on land, not snow) our first day. Also went to Denali doing the shuttle tour another day, and to Whittier, on the 26 Glacier Tour, and did the Alaska Rail train and raft tour out of Anchorage to Whittier, during our week's stay. Did a 9 mile round trip hike up to Reeds Lakes from Hatcher Pass. Some difficult terrain, but beautiful scenery. My husband brought home a broken ankle as a souvenir! :-( Be well prepared for the hike, it is wilderness, and grizzly's were spotted in the days before we did the hike. We highly recommend all of those activities. Plan lots of driving time if you intend to see lots of sights. Many 2 lane roads, but beautiful scenery everywhere!
Besides not being able to stay longer, our only disappointment was the hot tub, listed as an amenity when we booked the house, needed repair and was not working during our stay. Our son and family were quite disappointed, since we only found that out a week before our stay. And it would have felt wonderful after a long day hiking or touring! Hopefully it will be repaired soon.
Overall I would highly recommend this home. It is perfect for extended family. Plenty of bathrooms and sleeping areas, games and places for everyone to have their own space.
My husband and I, and our son, daughter-in-law and 3 older teen granddaughters were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, it was a perfect place to do that, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Alaska is amazing, and everyone we met was very friendly. Even at the Alaska Urgent Care center in Anchorage
a dream property!
The property was beautiful in and out and we really enjoyed our stay.
A truly wonderful place in a great setting
My wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, and I all loved your lakeside home. It really lived up to and exceeded the description and our expectations. Perhaps a good way to describe it is that although there were many things to see and do around the area, my wife wanted to spend the first day alone at the home while the rest of us went out. It was a marvelous time of relaxation for her to crochet, do her Bible study, and rest. She loved the peace and quiet and the beauty of the lake. We all really enjoyed the deck and simply walking around the property. It was in a good location for our outings and was a traveler's haven.
More than you could ask for
This home was impeccable! Dianne has it laid out perfectly with just about everything you could need. The beds were extremely comfortable! Very quiet neighborhood. Couldn't ask for a better place! Thank you so much! I would definitely recommend this house!
Mother's Day by the lake.
This is a wonderful property with a beautiful setting!!! Well build, taken care of and very clean. It's a beautiful home! My husbands and I ,daughters, son in laws and grandchildren spent Mother's Day weekend together at the lake house. There is plenty to do even in the early spring! It's relaxing and a wonderful place to re-energize! The furniture is comfortable and cozy. The up stairs porch with the fire pit is a lovely touch. The downstairs play area was fun and the perfect place to hangout together on a rainy afternoon. The location was perfect and added to its charm. We would stay here again!!!
Talkeetna is 50 miles away and has a thriving tourism center including fishing, sightseeing, and helicopter tours of Denali National Park.
