Ask a questionAbout Brad & Kim Pickerel
This property has been in the family for over 40 years and we have converted it to rental property for others to enjoy. We live 2 hours away in Georgia and use the property a few times a year to escape the rat race of metro Atlanta. My father purchased the property in the 1970's, started a real estate company, and lived in Cashiers for 45 years. He is now retired to SC and are we are part owners of the property. The original house burned down in 2005; we kept the land and converted the remaining detached garage into a loft cabin in 2010. We plan to keep the property in the family name for years to come.
Why Brad & Kim Pickerel chose Jackson County
My father wanted acreage with privacy/big view but close to Cashiers for work and golf.
What makes this Cabin unique
Spectacular, sweeping long-range views, 3-acre knob with level lot. Very private, no other homes in site. All the comforts of home in a setting of natural beauty unlike any other. The yurt was added years later as second bedroom studio after the original cabin was built. The yurt was chosen as something unique to the outdoor experience. This "living in the round" unit is world class manufacturing with high quality durability and designed to withstand the harshest environments by RAINIERYURTS in Washington State. Structural safety, tension cables, foundation, roof fabric, wind (withstand 95 to 105 m.p.h), snow loads, fallen trees, animal attacks, protection from the elements, fire, mold & mildew, radiant heat barrier insulation for walls and environmental friendly were the main components in design.
