About John Rhodes
I built this house in the forest. I love Volcano and built another guest motel named Jade Oasis also listed on vrbo.
John Rhodes purchased this House in 2012
Why John Rhodes chose Volcano
I personally stay here every chance I get. The house and location are awesome. My guest book is full of happy comments. Most people say they would have stayed longer had they known how nice it was.
What makes this House unique
I had rented homes in Volcano for years. Most of the homes are older, and are not upgraded. Most of the homes are cheap construction. I had my contractor build this home with all it's upgrades for you to share.

I brought my family for a Christmas away and immensely enjoyed the feeling of solitude seventh heaven provided while still being close enough to enjoy the sights of Hawaii. When we arrived the dinner table was set, the firewood was stacked neatly by the pot belly stove and the comfy couches were waiting for us to sink in. The quiet sounds of the rainforest were all we could hear when sitting on the patio. We would definitely stay here again.
Thanks Joshua, we strive to make everyone happy, thanks for the positive message. Come back when you can. Aloha John and Joy
A perfect place for a family vacation stay
The house is clean, spacious, helpful magazines and travel guides. 5 minutes drive to Valcano National Park. Kitchen is very family friendly, convenient to cook food on our own. We will book again if come back later. Thanks, John!
Great place for an overnight stay on the Volcano side
Three roomy bedrooms with king sized beds in each, a full kitchen, washer and dryer (although we only used the dryer when we got rained on). This was really close to HVNP as well as Volcano Village while feeling completely secluded. Very quiet place that felt like it was deep in the rainforest. Motion detector exterior lights for safety. There is no central heat aside from a wood burning stove and space heaters in each bedroom. Parents of littles will want to put the firestarters out of range and maybe move some of the more exciting and interesting treasures out of reach.
Clean, spacious, great location. Winner spot in Volcano.
Perfect option for a family or even multi-generation trip. Lots of space, large kitchen. Kahili ginger in abundance. Great atmosphere.
Aloha and thanks for choosing Seventh Heaven for your vacation time. We know just how important and special that time is. John and Joy
Lovely get away
Thanks so much for sharing such a lovely place with us. The accommodations were just right for our family. Not only did we have a place to relax after a busy day at the national park, we found the a wonderful cafe and met some friendly locals. Many people think of the beach resorts when thinking about Hawaii, but this is a piece of the island that shouldn't be overlooked. Mahalo!
Thank you so much! We work to improve our home constantly. Great reviews bring us great Joy. John and Joy
Serene and Private
Four adults shared a night at this property while enjoying hiking at Kilauea Volcano. The hot tub was a special bonus for soaking after our day's activities. Home was clean, comfortable and well stocked for weary travelers. Bedrooms are at separate ends of the home, which made for a private and quiet night. We were treated to the soft sounds of rain all night long, nature's perfect sleep aid.
The skies were crying because you had to leave. John and Joy
