Excellent location, Lacking Amenities
We enjoyed our four nights in Duck. The house is minutes from the beach. The surf in this are can be rough, especially for kids, but the beach is beautiful and not at all overcrowded in September. The house isn't the most luxurious, but has most basic needs. Kitchen has plenty of pots and pans for cooking, but lacking a few essentials: no sponges, dish soap, trash bags, coffee filters that fit the coffee maker, etc. And don't forget to bring ALL ingredients for cooking (no oils, seasoning, etc..). No shower products, towels, or detergent for washer/dryer... pack thoroughly! Nice deck off the kitchen. Hot tub is dated but functional (some patchwork to fix leaks, lights don't work in tub). We didn't use it as much as we thought we would since it is two stories below the main floor and tucked under the back deck on a concrete slab without lights. We did enjoy the outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. Very much appreciate the pet friendliness- our dog loved chasing his frisbee all over the sandbars! My reservation experienced a lot of technical difficulties as well (reservation disappeared after paying 50%, then returned with wrong dates, tried to charge full price again). Not sure to blame technical glitch on part of website or owner. Owner communicated well and helped overcome technical issues with VRBO support. Overall an enjoyable spot, but can't recommend as much as other places I've stayed that provided more comforts.
Paul B. Thank you for your feedback.I am very aware of the condition of the tub and a replacement has been ordered.Concerning the amenities,my VRBO listing clearly states what is and what is not available. The coffee filters are in the cabinet above the coffee maker.Linens are always supplied and towels are supplied only with 7 day rentals. The house was lovely, close to the beach and fit our needs perfectly. We loved it and can’t wait to come back!!! Two families with three Male teens and three female teens can be tricky to accommodate!
Thank you for your review. Please do come back .
Our family enjoyed a great vacation. The beach was a short walk away, we were within a few minutes drive of all the sights we wished to visit. I really appreciated the fully stocked kitchen. The house was clean, neat and well furnished. We enjoyed the views, the hot tub and the excellent response from the owner. I would return to vacation here again.
Thank you Chris for your review.I too enjoyed our communications.
Wonderful Summer Vacation
We came with our small family to this house for a week on OBX and we really enjoyed it. The house is charming, clean, fully equipped for vacationers and lovingly cared for by its owner. The house is super close to the beach which is so nice. The sand has just been augmented and has a wide shore now, and the lifeguard chair is located directly out front. So nice. I loved the beach. Wildlife is abundant. You can see and hear the ocean from the deck of the house. Our family made use of the bikes, which are in great condition and ready to go. It was perfect for us. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely review. So glad you enjoyed it .
Great relaxing week!!
We had a wonderfully relaxing week at "Nestled in the Pines". Our family of six had PLENTY of room, and our 2 little doggies enjoyed their stay as well. The hot tub was a hit with our whole family, as well as the loft! Our only suggestion would be to let your tenants know what items are available at the home such as beach chairs, boogie boards, etc. In the kitchen, it would have been helpful to know there were no garbage bags or kitchen towels. No matter! We had a great time!
Thank you for your review and your helpful information for us.
House and location were perfect for what we needed
Overall, if you are looking for a house that you'd feel comfortable bringing your younger kids to, this is it. It's less than a block from the beach. The beach was just redone and it's great. The house is older but it's honestly set up well, lots of deck space. We used the hot tub a couple times. I loved the location to the Village of Duck and close to Currituck Golf Club. For the price it's hard to beat this house.
